Beautiful Christmas Advert From The Germans..

Quote:

A Christmas advert released by German supermarket Edeka is melting hearts worldwide.

Similar to John Lewis’ emotive “Man On The Moon” advert; it focuses on an elderly man alone at Christmas. But, some viewers believe it has trumped the British advert as the most powerful yet.

The advert shows an elderly man spending several Christmases alone; with his children providing a different excuse each year: "I just wanted to call and let you know that we can’t make it for Christmas this year… we’ll try again next year. It’ll work out, I promise. Merry Christmas Daddy!”

Time passes and tragically the children receive news of their father passing away. The advert shows each child wishing they spent more time with their now departed dad.

The children return to the family home to attend his funeral and pay respects; but as they enter the dining room, their father appears and says: "How else could I have brought you all together?"

Tears quickly turn to smiles as the family indulge in a Christmas dinner that has been long overdue.

So beautiful. I'm going to call my Grandma and let her know how much I love her..

I saw it at lunch time on Loose Women, I must admit to tearing up somewhat.
Hopefully it will hit home with some folks.

Aaaah I'm in tears now </3

My mum works as a carer for mostly elderly people that live alone and she's always telling me how angry she gets whenever a client of hers tells her that their sons and daughters, and other family members, make promises to come around for Christmas dinner and then cancel at the last minute, I remember her telling me about this woman whose daughter literally just drove around, dropped off a dinner, and said she had to go again, and then on Boxing Day my mum went over to do her daily routine and just found her sat in bed crying her heart out.

I sadly don't have any grandparents left to check in on and make sure they know they're loved, but we always have everyone over for Christmas so I can't quite imagine feeling like "oh it's too much effort to go see _____"...

didn't really do it for me, but it was cute.
