Ben Heynow

Just watched last night's show and Jeez!!He just could'nt hang with Leona! He was absolutely awful.I mean i can't sing but i'm confident that i could have done as well or maybe even slightly better than Ben.

That second song was totally in the wrong key for him.Who the hell put this clown on stage with the goddess Leona?

You're an All Star

It was the worst match
They don't even have the same kind of voice
It's like mixing strawberries with cabbages
Ben was awful

Justice for Leona

Mystic Mock 14-12-2015 02:48 AM

Simon set them both up, Leona singing a song that was too low for her in the first half, and Ben singing a song that was too high for him in the second half.

Job done.

Don't tell me people still believe Simon personally puts these shows together?

I suppose he picked Leona's outfit too?

My thoughts EXACTLY - More synchronicity?

He gives out the song choices so of course he has a say on that.

And as his production he'll tell the Choreographers what he wants onstage which was a Choir and a loud backing track.

Edit... This is good times having you back btw Marsh.

But, again, do you honestly think Simon himself does these things or it's producers who run the show for him?

I don't think it's actually him. Not for a second.

Also, are the guest performers given "song choices"? Seems a bit odd. Surely the point of their segment was to just sing their most well known or most recent hits as alumni of the show. Leona isn't under the thumb of Syco anymore I believe.

Leona's meant to still be friends with Simon though and probably thought that she was doing him a favour helping out a new Artist whilst getting her own career restored so probably did anything that Simon asked her to.

And of course Simon doesn't have full control over his show, however not many producers are gonna wanna mess with Simon Cowell considering he has so many connections over every Showbiz angle it's unreal.

Yes but "not wanting to mess with Simon" is suggesting he gave a damn what song they sang?

If Simon actually had any passion for this show left it wouldn't be in the state it is now.

Well as he wants to promote Fleur he doesn't want any of his other contestants to overshadow her as Fleur doesn't sing so the only way to make her shine is to sabotage those around her, including his beloved Leona it seems.

:joker: So now he made Ben sing Run because Simon knew he wouldn't be able to handle it and it would make Fleur look good? :joker:

I think you overestimate the actual musical knowledge and expertise of Simon Cowell.

The only thing he's good at is selling a brand.

It doesn't take much Musical knowledge to put two vocalists that don't mesh together as a duet to make them look bad does it?

I thought we were discussing song choices. :hee:

Also, I think Leona and Ben would work together, it was just the song itself was too difficult for Ben.

Mystic Mock 14-12-2015 11:58 AM

I'm talking about everything, duet partners and song choices, and the arrangement.

I honestly don't get why The X Factor seems to think that Rockers can sing Snow Patrol anyway, Snow Patrol as a group is extremely subtle like Coldplay and Radiohead, your Ben and Luke types aren't really suited to that I don't think.

Or if you saw Louise Adams on TXFAUS she would struggle with the song as well as it's too low for them, and the Leona version is too high for them.

Marsh. 14-12-2015 12:12 PM

That's the point of a cover though. To do a different version. You're not supposed to simply mimic the original.

But some songs don't suit certain style changes though.

Just look at Max Stone's Someone Like You.

So.... they shouldn't do a crap cover.
