Fed up of people who take back cheating ex's

Has everyone lost their flipping minds? People don't change within the space of a week, no matter how drunk they were or how ever much they regret it, you're mindset doesn't just change, if they were prepared to do it then, it means that they will be prepared to do it again and again. Heck, they'll probably be even more inclined to do it because you've pretty much shown how weak you are by taking them back in the first place so now they're going to take advantage. WHY do people take back cheating ex's over and over again, WHAT possesses you to do such a thing?

Me too!!

Marsh. 15-12-2015 10:06 PM

I'll have their exes.

Ninastar 15-12-2015 10:09 PM

I know the feeling. Whats worse is when they pick the cheating ex over you. some people are just stupid

You have no idea how many times I've had to pick up the pieces with one friend in particular who is constantly being ****ed over by her boyfriend. Worst of all, she never listens to me, which just goes to show doesn't it?

She'll come running with a wrinkly tear-stained face in twenty years when they finally divorce and she's had six kids and he's ran off with a teenager.

Some people have it drilled into them that they are nothing without the other person, whether that be through low self-esteem or manipulation from their partner.

Or both of course.

It's also offers so much. You don't have to close yourself off from something meaningful on the off chance your partner ends up a cheat.

Oh man what has this place turned me into I sound like a right fa**y :smug:

My ex cheated on me, I found out from a friend and he lied it didn't happen - I later found out it had for sure and he admitted it - dumped him straight away, I don't think the trust would ever come back tbh

But I found it incredibly hard for about 2 months, I didn't cut him out because I see him a lot because he lives about 5 minutes from me but he knew me so well he knew I stay up late so he would message me at super late times knowing I'd be bored and reply instead of keeping busy and slagging his attempts off to my friends and I got on well with his family so I still spoke to them but his mum especially would say he missed me or I was always welcome round theirs but he would be there...At times I felt like giving him another chance but my friends were amazing and talked me out of it...had I been more closed off from my friends and not so close to my mum (who told me I was better than that) I think I would have gone back to him and cried over him going on nights out or holidays because I knew he was capable.

I don't think it's always as easy is what I'm saying

...just off topic but touching on something you've said Amy about his mum saying she missed you..?..although, I don't think that was a good thing to say or not something I would have done personally/get involved in any way, you know...it is so hard for parents with long term relationships of their children that break up..that person has spent so long being a part of your family, they've been there for all family occasions etc and just always around...so it feels like you've lost a part of your family and there is a 'grieving' process there for parents as well....there was one particular one with one of my sons, it was an amicable break up really, she and I did so much together, we just connected so beautifully...I cried for months....well I didn't really cry for months but it was very hard to not have her as part of our daily lives anymore...anyways, off topic but what you said just made me think of it...

Ammi 16-12-2015 06:09 AM

..but yeah Ashley, people see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe, they have to get there on their own...all you can do is support them, whatever their choices and know that it's not their choices that you're supporting but the person themselves...

Mystic Mock 16-12-2015 06:16 AM

Some people are weak minded Ashley.

Ammi 16-12-2015 06:23 AM

..it might be misplaced and that person not worthy of it but it's never weak to believe in someone, Mock...

I think if it's a one off then I could agree with you Ammi, but from what Ashley's saying this friend has been letting her boyfriend cheat on her multiple times over.

That in my book is pretty weak minded and it's a shame as I bet that she's probably a nice girl.
