Louisa Johnson set to be first XF winner to miss number 1

Her cover of Bob Dylan's Forever Young is currently in the Top 10 in the midweeks but has already slipped from the top spot on iTunes behind current chart topper Justin Beiber, leaving her unlikely to overtake by Friday.

To date every single winner of The X Factor has gone to Number 1 with their debut single from Steve Brookstein in 2004 through to Ben Haenow last Christmas.

Already falling down the chart this week also means it's almost certain that X Factor won't grab this year's Christmas top spot in next week's chart. For the first time in years, the Christmas Number 1 will be announced on Christmas day itself next Friday, December 25.

Didn't Rage against the Machine keep one of them off No.1? or did he just miss being Christmas No.1?

Ashley. 17-12-2015 01:41 PM

What's all this fuss about "Stormzy for #1"? Seen it on Twitter quite a bit. Who is Stormzy?

Jordan. 17-12-2015 01:43 PM

Not surprising the song is dull and forgettable, plus the general decline the show is in.

yeah, but he went to number 1 the week after.. i assumed she would miss out on number 1, she lost 3 days of sales and the song isn't that great, her CD was realised yesterday as well. 2 days from the chart reveal. But winner singles doesn't mean much i guess since James Arthur's single sold loads during the 1st week and then he flopped couple of months after.

its a dreadful song and does not deserve success

X Factor is dying at last

It is indeed! you should have seen the final it was a mess.

LukeB 17-12-2015 01:48 PM

Louisa should have just realise it's a man's world, she would have had a chance.

Fleur for #1!

Shaun 17-12-2015 02:07 PM

Charts are mostly determined by streams now aren't they? I guess that explains why Justin Bieber tracks from 6 months ago are still in the top ten.

Denver 17-12-2015 02:07 PM

She deserves to flop

Beiber deserves to be #1 over her, he's improved so much lately and every song on his album is better than the UK top 10 together

no one can shade Adele:smug: she's better than all of the X factor contestants put together. They all wish to have a career like hers but will never get it.

While I don't agree Louisa deserves to flop - Cowell does, the winners songs are utterly dire, he should get somebody to write a decent ballad for the winner instead of rewarding their win with a crappy cover song

The problem with Simon is he only cares about money he doesn't care one bit about Careers and the only reason he cried when 1D split is because he would stop earning money

 and you're a not a Louisa fan as much too.

I prefer Joe - The Climb/Matt Cardle - When We Collide and i'm not even a fan of those contestants. I still like the song but still think it's a poor choice for a winners single.

Cal. 17-12-2015 02:36 PM

Most winners single choices are poor. I think she'll still do it.

Denver 17-12-2015 02:36 PM

Hallelujah will always be the best winners single

Brother Leon 17-12-2015 02:42 PM

A Bieber,Stormzy and 1D top three will be a beautiful way to end the year. :worship:

An irrelevant soul trying to steal the xmas limelight, luckily he'll become unknown again after!
