BBC1 drama Cuffs will not be returning for a second series – and the cast are "gutted".

The Brighton-set cop drama featuring Sherlock's Amanda Abbington, Top Boy's Ashley Walters, Broadchurch star Shaun Dooley and Spooks actor Eleanor Matsuura ended on Wednesday night with its eighth – and now final – episode.

All the cast have been big supporters of the show on Twitter during its run, but ended up being the ones to break the bad news once the series finale had ended.

I haven't watched it personally, but a lot of people aren't happy that this has been cancelled.

The problem with UK TV Shows is that the seasons are really small.

Why can't our Shows be 12 to 13 episodes a season instead of 6 to 8?
