Letwin: (Said in the 1980's): "Blacks Have Bad Moral Attitude"
http://media.skynews.com/media/image...-1-992x558.jpg
This is in many papers from Old Times from the 1980's (So bare in mind it was 30 years ago) Labour MP's must understand what they, themselves , were like back then |
It is a rather inappropriate attitude from a govt Minister.
It isn't Labour MPs that have revealed this it has surfaced because of the daft controls of 30 year rules on publication of issues. Nothing to do with Labour ,and since he is an advisor still to govt now, very relevant to have to answer to. One is left wondering despite his apology,'a forced apology again from a parliamentarian', what his real thinking as to this issue is now however. |

I know its from the 30 year old papers but one Labour Ponce was on TV, early this morning doing spin. But they need to understand what they were like then. I have not had time to add a link |
Letwin was a known ass hole then, he is a known ass hole now. Nothing has changed. He shouldn't have been associated with government then, he shouldn't be associated with government now. Nothing has changed.

Wasn't this in context to the rioting at the time?
He should have been looking into why people felt the need to riot rather than blame it on their morals. |
It was the creation of a 'folk devil' enforce the suggestion that they just don't think like us and it's easier to turn a blind eye to ill treatment of minority groups. This is an early example (and a rather crude one) of what we are all used to across our tabloids daily.
They'll probably install a statue of him somewhere shortly. |
One of David Cameron’s most influential ministers has apologised "unreservedly" after finding himself at the centre of a racism row, following the release of government papers kept secret for 30 years which revealed his “appalling” and “disgusting” attitudes towards black communities.
Oliver Letwin, who has been at the heart of government for three decades and is currently a senior policy adviser to the Prime Minister, admitted parts of a private memo written to Margaret Thatcher in the aftermath of rioting in British cities were "badly worded and wrong". What is the common denominator when there is any wrong doing, as we see here... and the misrepresentations from Hillsborough, miners strikes, welfare cuts, human rights violations. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-a6790026.html |
Wasn't Dianne Abbott accused of racism too after tweeting back in 2012 "White people love playing "divide and rule" We should not play their game #tacticasoldascolonialism ? She had to apolgise for it if i remember correctly. What a racist thing for a high ranked labour politician to say about anyone let alone white people.:nono:

In this P.C. world as it has increasingly become over the past 40 years, the mightiest, most powerful word in the English language is the word; 'some'.
It can render the most unpalatable remarks 'acceptable', and Letwin is a jerk-off for not capitalising on his expensive education and including the word. Oh what a word it is: White people are racist bastards. Some white people are racist bastards. Blacks have a bad moral attitude. Some blacks have a bad moral attitude. Had he included that unassuming, little mighty atom of a word - who could disagree with him? Personally, in the grand scheme of things, as idiotic as Letwin was and still is, and as offensive as his (many) remarks are, I feel this is an over-reaction; a storm in a 30 year old tea cup, and there are far worse incidents to worry about which are current. |

Nobody knew of it 30yrs ago... So whatever is said as long as the public are totally in the dark it's fine? :/

??????????????? Where has anyone SAID that, or IMPLIED that? I'd hate to read any book reviews you penned. What I am saying, is that - YES - the knobhead was wrong in what he said, and YES it was offensive, but it WAS 30 years ago, and the tumult and outrage now is a tad - no, more than a tad - is WAY over the top. Still, if it gives some people with nothing better to do, something to while away a week or two, I suppose it serves some purpose. Then after that, perhaps they can revisit the blue-chip dirty tricks scandal of 2013 or one of the many others which only surfaced a decade or two after the events. |
It's in the OP :/
|
Thing is, what he said was not acceptable 30 years ago either and the only reason its 30 years is due to the fact its been locked away to protect him all this time. Its like saying a rapist did something 30 years ago and has just been caught so as it was 30 years ago its ok? I don't think so.

No Kirk all Press have dates when hidden/secret papers get published after just 30 years I would change it to every 50 years |

Yes they were just ideas he kept going into the system. Its better now as we can have New Ideas not pre- published or kept secret etc. Unless its over National Security thats kept secret for Our Safety |

I have been a pro-active member on here long enough not to be surprised that the certain members who mitigate or deny altogether, Jeremy Corbyns many disgusting and offensive statements and deeds, are the very same now being the most outraged and vociferous in their condemnation of this one 30 year old statement from a cretin such as Letwin.
