Will CBB Follow other RTV Shows With Free App Votes?

Do you think it will happen since all of the RTV shows are doing it?

We all know the production like to do things to keep certain housemates.. Wouldn't 5 free app votes help them even more(most of the viewers can download of the app) ? because most people don't want to vote and give them 50p etc and we end up losing good people like last season Janice Dickinson.

I doubt it as ITV gets more viewers hence more sponsorship money while CH5 rely on viewer votes

This.

With shows like XF and IAC, they get around 7-10m viewers so with free voting it still ensures a lot of landline votes are made in order to make money, whereas BB can hardly scrape 1.5m. A typical BB eviction probably gets on average around 100k votes nowadays whereas shows like XF and IAC get like 2-3m votes cast.

No I think they rely on the money made from voting to make profit. The only reason other shows have free voting is because sponsorship earns them more money than voting ever would.

Probably not but it would be great if they did.

I wrote a little bit about this in my end-year review (you can read more here if you wish: https://zakman440.wordpress.com/2015...g-review-2015/)

Finally, I’d like to look at fan-engagement. More specifically, online fan engagement. Fan engagement is something that Big Brother could be doing very well, but at the moment it isn't. Obviously there are many solutions to this but I would like to focus on just one – the Big Brother app. There is so much potential there that isn't being fulfilled. In my opinion, a bolstered Big Brother app with daily updates from the house, a live feed, free app voting (similar to all of ITV’s shows) and a Fifth Judge-esque game (which could open the door for more sponsor revenue) would not only keep fans engaged, but it would enhance the experience that fans get once the highlights finish on Channel 5. Second screen apps are something that a lot of other shows thrive off, so it’s about time Big Brother got in on the action.
Basically, yes - it needs to happen.

gamepodfan 30-12-2015 04:09 PM

they might becuase ion the app now and it says vote

RichardG 30-12-2015 05:00 PM

They probably can't afford to do the free votes

And ruin a business is exactly what they've done to the Big Brother franchise
