this is bad news

This is alarmist. There are very few surface to air missiles capable of shooting down airliners at high altitude, and certainly not old ones. The stability and accuracy of old weapons puts those firing them at the greatest risk

The possibility of them making home made bombs is also not new. That couple were making them in Reading
