is Reality TV an aging format?

Lets Look

Celebrity Big Brother Series 17
Normal Big Brother Series 15
TOWIE Series 16
Im a Celeb Series 15

and i know X Factor , The Apprentice and Strictly have been on for about 10 years too

so what do you think , are is reality TV starting to lose that impact on people?

In the case of Big Brother/The X Factor it's a case of too many gimmicks for ratings, however most of the other shows have been on a roll. Reality TV will still be around for years to come though - especially with the rising popularity of YouTube.

I think it is, sadly.

I wrote two of my final essays on reality TV and it made me realize it more. It's very oversaturated.

Something new needs to come along that will revolutionize because the same tropes are getting old.

Yes it seems to be getting more and more desperate. Upping the amount of sex and antagonism in these shows seems to be the only way the producers think the shows can go. They are becoming predictable and mundane. This is especially true of shows like CBB, where the producers pander to the whims of the contestants, instead of taking into account viewer preferences.
