Kate Lawler is set to replace Edith Bowman on Channel 4 morning show RI:SE.

The Big Brother winner has signed a six-figure deal for a year and will step into Edith's shoes later this month.

She will host the show alongside Iain Lee while keeping up her slot on London's Capital Radio.

Producer Justin Gorman told The Sun: "When we tested Kate she came across as she did in Big Brother - natural, smart and full of life."

Edith quit after a last-ditch bid to attract more viewers to the ailing show failed.

She is now presenting Radio 1's Saturday morning show with former RI:SE host Colin Murray.

Although I fear that RI:SE isn't exactly setting the heather alight just now, so to speak.

Her contract is for a year, but will the programme last that long? :conf:

I have really bad feelings about Kate doing this. It might be good for her to get some exposure and experience for the futurebut RI:SE is a bit of a turkey as shows go!

Well I've never been much of a Kate fan, but I hope she does well and wish her good luck with this. Let's face it she has to be better than Edith Bowman who is just soooo annoying it is unbelievable :hugesmile:

Another thing about Kate joining RI:SE is it means that they are even less likely to have any BB2 people on giving their opinions during BB4. The program now has it's own inhouse expert and she'll just get her BB3 buddies in. :bawling:

To be fair the BB site does say that this Iain bloke had changed his mind about Kate and liked her by the end of BB4....

That's true about the BB coverage this summer though LEE - shame!! I wanted a chance to see the BB2 people again. :bawling:

Anyone seen Kate on RI:SE yet?

Needless to say I haven't. :blush:

I saw her on Wednesday. She was just 'there'. She didn't actually do anything whilst I was watching.

I've seen her a couple of times as well. She doesn't seem to be one of the main presenters, just around doing small bits and pieces and the odd interview.

I did catch it right at the start of the week on her first day and one fo the guys said something like 'We have Katie Lawler with us here this month' so if that's correct it doesn't sound like a permanent job.

Ok I may be out of date:laugh:. Switched on RI:SE this week and no Kate. Has she left the sinking ship already or just on holiday.......:spin2:

She's been on Holiday, they had that Ian Lee and Duggie on for the last two weeks. Hurry back Kate:thumbs:she should be back on from this Monday. :dance: I like Kates snappy interviewing style. :laugh:

Nice to see her back on RI:SE this morning. Looking quite glamourous I thought. For me the program is unwatchable when they only have those couple of "Laddish" type characters presenting. Kate introduced some normality and I watched the show for at least 10 minutes longer than usual.:laugh::laugh:
