Celine Dion's brother passes away
 

Celine Dion is facing more heartbreak after the death of her husband René Angélil on Thursday.

The singer's older brother Daniel is also battling cancer, and his family believe he has just hours or days to live.

Celine's sister Claudette told Journal Of Montreal: 'It's very painful. It's a matter of days or hours. It looks a lot like René, he had cancer of the throat, tongue and brain. Our family is very experienced.'

Daniel, who is 59, is in hospital in Celine's native Montreal and surrounded by family, including 88-year-old mother Therese.

Members of the family gathered at Daniel's bedside on Thursday after being told that he is 'dying'.

Claudette added to Journal Of Montreal: 'We are with Daniel, day and night. He is 59 years old, very young to be the end of life.'

Celine, 47, is the youngest of 14 children.

I've known whole families wiped out , Celine is no different - ordinary people deal with these things because they have too - so will she

As horrible as it is, I'd imagine there will be a lot of closeness in the family right now with so much sadness going on around them and that in itself must be quite a reassuring thing, that they're not alone in their grief...
