Sorry, Labour run councils spend money on crap too. Ours keeps wasting money on really stupid unnecessary things while claiming to be broke :umm2:

there was a time when governments cracked down on crap like this, but local governments demanded autonomy, This is what you get.

I could fill 25 pages on here with similar but even worse true accounts of Councillor's and Council corruption dating back decades, on the part of BOTH Labour AND Tory Councils.

None of that makes THIS act any the less disgusting and infuriating though. A lot of Councils are corrupt simply because corrupt people become councillors, and they gravitate towards being a Councillor because being one AFFORDS them the opportunity to indulge their corruption and enables them to 'Feather Their Own Nests' and live 'The Good Life' at the expense of the Rate Payer.

Agreed, although I would apply this to the vast majority of politicians at ALL levels, right to the very top.

I don't get the mockery surrounding the mirror... Is it not the truth? I'm sure the council involved would be mightily annoyed if it wasn't.

The bottom line is that Tory councils are more efficient and more economically run than Labour councils.
