This is wrong
Swedish Police allow them to rape children

[Bleak: Police were being called a couple of times a week to Västerås,
to deal with drugs, fights, or just calm the staff who have called
them because they are frightened, now they refuse to enter
because it could provoke the refugees. This boy, Hassem, is being
kept in his room because he is sick]

Who is responsible for this?
Why are there only two staff for such high numbers?
Why are the police being allowed to be beaten back?
Why is it so over crowded?
Why are the living conditions so appalling?

Because policy decision has allowed it.

Anyone caught breaking the law, gangs etc need to be told they will be deported
Immediately.
Perhaps it would be an idea for some arrangements to be made to appoint a committee in each refugee centre and have some proper representation to meet local councils etc to make complaints through the proper channel. They could also sort some sort of rules and regulations out and try to keep things in check.

God, the daily mail commentators never cease to disgust me.

It's not a situation that's going to calm down by force without risking innocent lives. They should send in the medical assistance that they need and try to assess the situation from there. Work with the refugees to root out the rapists and criminals, there's plenty of families in that centre who would obviously be glad to see the back of them.

I didn't realize that Sweden has played a big part in taking in unaccompanied youths.

We had a similar problem over here when we took in unaccompanied children from war torn Sierra Leone. What we have to remember is, these children have likely been witness to some pretty awful stuff including the execution of their parents, brothers and sisters. Some of these children/youths will of been child soldiers who were expected to execute people and so some of these kids minds will be screwed up.

I'm not in any way excusing the youth who did this but we have to understand why this sort of thing is happening so that we can address it with the right sort of therapy.

Horrific, I can't imagine what those children have gone through, and of course the poor murdered girl. What a mess.

..this problem in Sweden is something which has been there for quite a while now, it's been a huge discussion on anther forum I'm on...and it does show the strain on countries of the immigrant crisis situation, so it's also that balancing and considering things like this as well...we don't want to turn those fleeing from war torn countries away but then, that has to be sustainable and feasible as well, to be able to offer them 'safety'...it's also why in these many discussions, I feel that 'both opposing' are equally valid and it's the coming together with governments and finding that balance as well...I mean this is just so, so heart-breaking...but it isn't just a case in many cases of just offering shelter/food etc and possibilities to earn incomes, there is so much damage because of their lives...having said that, I personally have met many children from African war torn countries/have talked in depth with them and they're some of the most inspirational, beautiful and well balanced little people that I have ever met, so go figure...

Isn't it a case of trauma being proportional? some will be severely affected as we see here and some not so much and able to function perfectly well again once in a safe stable environment.
PTSD is not an exact science of course but intervention before kids get so traumatised they are at risk of never recovering helps.
