When is it an acceptable time of day to you to start drinking alcohol?

In my opinion it is around 5 pm.

When I worked in London we had lunch time drinks on a Friday and would roll back to the office afterwards and carry on working

Cherie 18-02-2016 04:51 PM

You wouldn't have fitted in with your 5pm rule :idc:

If I'm holidaying... Anytime around lunch, or Bailey's in the coffee at Christmas in the morning :hehe:

Otherwise, around 5 sounds about rt

Me as the black sheep of your office on a Friday lunchtime?

Jake. 18-02-2016 04:56 PM

A drink with lunch doesn't hurt

Crimson Dynamo 18-02-2016 04:59 PM

For me I am pretty strict to adhere to 7pm

When I worked in advetising in the 90s in London if we took a client out to lunch it was frowned upon if we came back before 4 and more often than not we never came back and would meet everyone in the pub at around 6, baldderated

If we came back a bit early and started to sober up we kept drink hidden in the loos so we could top up (mostly a friday this was)

Jake. 18-02-2016 05:04 PM

Yeah that happens on friday's frequently at my work (also in london).. not with me, the high up people

Crimson Dynamo 18-02-2016 05:08 PM

When I was at the BBC (sounding like Ronnie Corbett now) we would go out around the dives of White City on a Friday and have like 6 pints and get back at around 3.30 and then walk around the offices holding a piece of paper looking cross (this was a great way to waste time and no one would pull you up as they thought you were going somewhere) - it was all about wasting time till we could hit the beeb bar at 5.30

Samm 18-02-2016 05:11 PM

I only drink if I'm coming out/with freinds and pre-drinks start around 5 so yeah

We would leave you behind to answer the phones

When I worked in the city, it wasn't unusual to go to the pub for 3 hours of a lunchtime, 2 or 3 days a week for a 3 or 4 pints, and then have a nap before heading home.

On holiday 12pm, at the airport anytime, at home 7pm, at home on a hot sunny day at the weekend 11am.

Crimson Dynamo 18-02-2016 05:20 PM

On hols with the boys then we have been known to have a can of tennants for breakfast to stave off a a terrible hangover and whenever the golf ends the bladderation must begin

Kizzy 18-02-2016 05:22 PM

I don't drink but when I did it was 9pm.

why so late?

Locke. 18-02-2016 05:32 PM

Depends really. If pre-drinking before a night out then usually about 10pm assuming we're heading out at 12. But then there are times when you go the pub for the match so can be drinking as early as 12.30pm.

AnnieK 18-02-2016 05:38 PM

On hols after 12.

Don't drink at home during the week or if I do it may be a glass of red around 9pm. Weekends will depend what we are doing etc

Crimson Dynamo 18-02-2016 05:49 PM

12 minutes to d-day

Oh yeah... If it's sports in the afternoon... got to have a beer or two.

armand.kay 18-02-2016 05:54 PM

If I go to a bar or pub for lunch my mates normally get a pint so I do too but normally I don't drink unless I'm going out and that starts at like 9 while I'm getting ready for pre's :hehe:

Shaun 18-02-2016 05:57 PM

Earliest I'd drink is around 2-3pm (if out at lunch or something)
