Trump batters the Pope who attacks him

smh at the pope
  • Pope spoke on Papal plane after trip to Mexico which took him to US border where he celebrated mass
  • Condemned Trump's plan to build a wall between the United States and Mexico saying: 'This is not in the Gospel.'
  • Trump, campaigning in South Carolina, hit back furiously, calling the Pope 'disgraceful' and accused him of being a 'pawn' of the Mexican government
  • 'Now it's probably going to be all over the world. Who the hell cares? I don't care!' he said. 'We have to stop illegal immigration ... and crime.'
  • Trump is a Presbyterian who has highlighted his religion repeatedly and is battling Ted Cruz in South Carolina for evangelicals
  • Pope had held right on the border at Ciudad Juarez, with celebration simulcast to stadium on American side of Rio Grande

Trump says it's 'disgraceful to question a person's faith' yet thinks that Obama is a Muslim

I am more with the Pope here, despite the problems and wrongs of the Catholic Church.
Trump just seems to get worse.

This doesn't surprise me. Got to side with his holyness on this one.

Trumps performance in the last debate on Saturday was astonishing. He went off. He attacked everyone; even having a go at Jeb Bush for his brothers record ie the 911 attack. This is something that was considered almost treason a few years ago and something the left are too frightened to do. All the press think Trump was a bully and went too far. Personally I think that point should have been hammered by the left ages ago.

Leading conservative pundits reckon that given Trumps performance at the debate if he wins South Carolina then its all over; they may as well hand him the nomination now. According to Fox News, Trump is currently leading the poll by 32% in South Carolina. Got to hand it to him his tactics since Iowa have been brilliant.

I'm with Donald on this one, its not the popes job to get involved in politics, and certainly not concerning mexico and the usa

yes, but if you or I say anything, nobody listens (usually)

With power comes responsibility, and its really none of his business as head of the Catholic church

Kizzy 18-02-2016 08:30 PM

Then why is David Cameron advocating Anglicanism?

bots 18-02-2016 08:37 PM

its interesting that the pope would say that Trump is not a Christian as he wants to be building walls, yet the Catholic Church still considered Christian those priests they covered for and protected that were child molesters and monetarily corrupt. He should look to his own organisation before trying to influence the result of an election in a foreign country

the pope has stuck two fingers at his catholic europeans, for telling them to embrace the refugee invasion, the only thing the church care's for is the gold and silver, on there necks and hands, when jfk was the first catholic to be leader of america, he took a strong dislike of the pope who would try and dictate to him, back then, where was the pope when christians where being killed in iraq and syria by isis,

And look what happened to him

The Pope is the leader of the oldest Christian Church in the world, surely he is in a better place than anyone else to say who is a Christian and who isn't. Obviously a lot of people won't agree with him but I don't see why it's that controversial for a religious leader to comment on someone's religion

..he wasn't really saying who was a Christian though, it was a general thing of defining what he thinks is Christian, so saying that a Christian, as in any Christian as he saw it wouldn't be someone who would seek to build walls but someone who would seek to build bridges...and if Trump was seeking to build walls then to him, he wouldn't be a Christian in definition...'a person who only thinks about making walls again and again and not making bridges, isn't a Christian'...and then saying that he wouldn't get mixed up in it though..(that worked out well..)...'I would only say this man is not a Christian if that was what he was' ....

...anyways, Trump is an extreme, isn't he...building walls is an extreme but there has to be a balance to building bridges as well, in that there does have to be things like immigration control, it's just that the Trump immigration control is to say no, go away to all, it seems...quite an 'un-Christian/un-charitable of spirit' thing to do.....I do personally find it quite worrying though that the head of the Catholic Church..(in 2016..)...doesn't know these basic things, like you said and is using the word 'if'...and that he has no knowledge of what Trump represents in a country which is so powerful and important in the world...there should not have been an 'if that's what Trump has said'/thing for me at all...and just represents a total detachment to any world realities....

...mind you, walls are a good idea to prevent as many people as possible having to look at Trump's hair, it seems to be getting more and more crazy as time goes along...I'm thinking he could be like Samson and if someone were to pull off his hair-piece, he'd lose his 'power'.../that's what the Pope needs to do to stop those un-Christian walls...

Trump definitely made the Pope look like a fool about the Pope's comment about building walls. When he tweeted that picture of the YUGE walls around the vatican, i laughed my ass off.

The Pope is an idiot and a hypocrite, and way more of a bigot than Donald Trump.

You do realise the walls have been there forever and you can walk into Vatican City, it's not sealed off to Mexicans or other nationalities
