My brilliant positive uplifting first day at the gym
I signed up on Wednesday and went in today for the first time and was told I needed a card, but they couldn't find me on the system and started accusing me of trying to get in for free so I brought up the email confirmation on my phone and even then they only gave me a one time only guest pass so idk how I'm going to get in in the future
Then I sat on an exercise bike and put my phone in my pocket and was about to begin when some woman shouted at me across the gym accusing me of stealing her phone (??) and walked over to me, still shouting, before checking her own pocket and realised she had it all along Then after 40 mins exercising I felt really rubbish so I gave up and I obviously never realised how unfit I was because on my way out my legs went really weak and I fell over onto the floor in the middle of the gym Let's see what tomorrow is like :worry: |
Oh :/
Have you paid a fee? they sound awful and unhelpful |
I hate going to the gym but if I didn't go I would probably be fat
|
Cancel and find another :/
|
The site says they'll only take the first months payment out in March so maybe I'll be able to cancel the direct debit thing before then if they don't let me back in :fist:

You might have a better experience next time, hope you told that rude woman to **** off
|
^ I should have done but I was already confused about what happened at the reception that I just stared at her in disbelief
|
Did she atleast apologise?
|
Did you have a fitness evaluation and plan and a show around, sounds like a rubbish Gym
|
...awww Richard.....if you only signed up on Wednesday..?..then these things usually have a 'cooling down' period, I don't think it's a fixed time though, so that would vary but you'd probably be within that time period anyway so you could just cancel your membership and your direct debit and find another gym, which you could try out first, that's some that many gyms do...give you a few free sessions, which will give you a chance to decide if it's one that you want to enrol in...

A gym is only as good as the hot totty that frequent it
:nono: |
omg this is a mess
I didn't want to go back because last time was all scary but I thought I'd give it one more go today. I went in and it was the same evil guy on the reception and this time my name was on the system but it said in big red writing that I've been missing my payments? He let me in but told me I have to ring the number of the main office to sort it out before they'll let me back. Anyway I just got home and looked at my bank and it's true that no money has been taken out yet, but I looked at the welcome email I received two weeks ago and it clearly says "your first payment will be taken out on the 18th March, and then on a monthly basis from 18th April onwards" !!! What do I do do I still ring that number anyway or do I storm in tomorrow and tell the idiot to just give me my bloody membership card already :fist: |
Is there not another gym near you? I would cancel membership and try somewhere else tbh

Print off the email or have you it on your phone? flash that at him next time, you don't need to be wasting your time ringing the main office when you have confirmation in writing, let him sort it out |
...did you contact your bank to arrange the standing order/direct debit to be transferred out each month when you joined, Richard....is that something you also have to do..?..
|
idk what that means :worry: at the end of the sign up process it said that my bank details were correct tho
maybe i'll show the email next time and if they still won't give me a card then i'll just cancel and go somewhere else this is silly, I think the entire gym has some kind of vendetta against me  |
Hopefully all the worry will lead to weight loss
