Ant & Dec insist this is their last year hosting the BRIT Awards.

Next week's Brit Awards will be an emotional night for British TV's favourite pairing Ant & Dec, as they bow out as the ceremony's hosts.

The pair have confirmed that the show at London's O2 Arena on February 24 will be the third and final time they front the UK's biggest music awards show.

"We had such fun last year that we thought, 'Oh go on, let's do it one more time'," Dec told Digital Spy.

"But this is it. This is definitely it. This beginning of the year bit for us is so busy with Britain's Got Talent [auditions] and Saturday Night Takeaway, that it's too mentally busy for us.

"So it's just one more and then we'll hand it over to someone else."

Asked who they would like to hand the role over to, Ant replied: "There's loads of people out there qualified to do it. I think Grimmy would do a good job."

Dec added: "Whoever does it though, it's a really fun job to do. It's nerve-wracking, it's a bit overwhelming at times, but it's a huge amount of fun.

"And if things go wrong, you just kind of have to go with it. You've always got to be ready for that."

Adele, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Little Mix are among the performers who will take to the stage at the Brit Awards 2016 next week.

Meanwhile, Ant & Dec will return to British TV screens with Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend, which airs on ITV at 7pm.

The pair have already previewed a hilarious prank where they go undercover on the set of James Corden's The Late Late Show in the US.

A wise decision tbh. I mean, they aren't bad hosts - they're just not the right fit for the BRITs. I reckon it'll be Caroline Flack or Dermot next year though (or even possibly a return for James Corden?)
