Just read this, very sad - had a major impact on TV worldwide.

Apparently he was quite heavily involved behind the scenes since day one - even in recent years, the producers had regular meetings with him.
Sad news. Some of his episodes in the early years were amazing.

"My mother had a beautiful death. She just sat up, broke wind and died."

very sad.

He has given so many so much.
All the millions enjoying soaps around the world can thank him. He came up for the idea in the first place.
