Kelly Clarkson says Dr Luke is "not a good guy" and claims she was blackmailed into working with him

Singer speaks about her own experience of working with the producer.

Kelly Clarkson has spoken about her experience of working with Dr Luke and claimed the producer is "not a good person".

Kesha is currently trying to end her contract with Kemosabe Records after accusing founder Dr Luke of sexual misconduct and abuse.

Prefacing her thoughts by saying she 'doesn't know [Kesha's] situation' Kelly told KIIS106.5 that she "clashed" with the producer.

The singer insisted she only worked with Dr Luke because she was "blackmailed" by her label.

"I only worked with him because, literally, I got blackmailed by my label. They were like, 'We will not put your album out if you don't do this'. It was a really hard time for me," she said.

"He's not a good person to me. We've clashed but I can't say anything other than that. I can remark on his character and unfortunately, when you have that character, so many artists don't like you and don't like working with you. That's not normal."

Pressed to describe Dr Luke's character, Kelly added: "Obviously he's a talented dude but he's lied a lot. I've run into a couple of really bad situations.

"Musically it's been really hard to me because he'll just lie to people and it makes the artist look bad. He's difficult to work with, kind of demeaning."

The singer went on to explain why she hasn't publicly defended Kesha.

"[Kesha's] situation is very different to mine apparently. He never did anything like that with me. I don't know that part," Kelly said.

"People are like, 'Why don't you defend her?' and I'm like, 'I'll be really honest about the guy but I don't know that situation'. If it's true I can't imagine working with someone who had done that."

Dr Luke continues to deny the claims and defended himself on Twitter after the court ruled that Kesha would not be allowed to break her contract, saying: "I didn't rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her.

"Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister."

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga, Adele and Lena Dunham are among those who have spoken out in support of Kesha.

Hopefully this'll help prove how scummy Dr Luke is.

She's had a gripe with him for years so I think you can view this as her striking when he's down which isn't very pleasant, she knows that airing a 10 year old view of him when he's being vilified as a) an oppressor and b) a rapist is just pouring more onto the fire. I dunno, I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for the guy, absolutely nothing has been proven in a court of law and you have all these famous women coming out and declaring support for Kesha so therefore agreeing with her claims even if they're not vocally agreeing with them. Personally, I don't feel that she's making it up after seeing the level of grief she was displaying, I don't think that's something you can fake... but still, horrible for him if it's not true, his career will be in ruins regardless now.

She doesn't have to talk about it point blank, she made a choice to stick the knife in. That's fine, but it comes across as her having an axe to grind and using all this attention on Luke to bring attention to it and I don't really like that it's being used to influence public opinion of a man who most people have probably never heard of until now.

Kelly made a point of stating that she wasn't going to comment on the Kesha situation since she knows nothing about it, she was only giving her honest opinion of him based on her experiences. That's fair enough.

Yeah this really. She isn't getting involved which is the best way really. nothing wrong with saying her opinion regarding a question.
