Scariest modern horror film?

Obviously this doesn't include the classics so don't go naming The Exorcist or Alien or whatever.

I'm gonna say The Babadook, it really got under my skin. It succeeds in building a sense of dread that so many newer horror films forgo in favour of jump scares and it's honestly so ****ing creepy.

The Strangers or Sinister for me.

The Babadook was utter crap imo

i found hostel really scary :worry:

Babayaro. 20-03-2016 09:57 PM

The Conjuring. I seen it at the cinema at like 10 at night, and it was terrifying. I think the hype made it scarier than what it actually was

I literally just got back from seeing that  It was good, loved seeing Maggie from TWD in it  I preferred the first half of the movie

Amy Jade 20-03-2016 09:58 PM

I found Haute Tension pretty creepy too, especially the first 40 minutes or so

Firewire 20-03-2016 09:59 PM

Is forror a genre of its own?

I really liked it, it was better than I expected but I do agree the first half is the better half, really creepy.

Have you seen The Other Side Of The Door?

Amy Jade 20-03-2016 10:02 PM

French horror does tend to be ultra gory

Babayaro. 20-03-2016 10:04 PM

Is that film good? I haven't seen it, but I've heard it's quite similar to Wolf Creek which I enjoyed.
