Why is BB9 Spitgate labelled "Fight Night"

I think it's tragic that an argument where someone got spat at is labelled another Fight Night. BB5 Fight Night had three people get hit/slapped, someone jump on someone's back and pull there hair. someone throttle someone, someone push someone over a table, someone spit in someone's face (which is the only thing that happened in BB9).

Does anyone else find it a bit ridiculous, or do you think it's fair to call Spitgate, Fight Night Two?.

Dominic 31-03-2016 03:01 PM

Because spit was involved. If it wasn't for that it would be irrelevant.

Daniel. 31-03-2016 03:02 PM

Yeah but that's still not fighting, personally I think Verrucagate and a number of arguments from BB6 were more extreme than Spitgate.

Lostie! 31-03-2016 03:04 PM

What's tragic and ridiculous is people undermining how serious spitting in someone's face is. It's assault, plain and simple, and one of the most awful actions someone's ever done in the BB house.

Daniel. 31-03-2016 03:05 PM

OK but were not talking about it in that context, were talking about whether it deserved to be called FIGHT NIGHT, Spitgate is fine and I agree it was gross, where did I say it wasn't? My point was that it wasn't a fight night.

Lostie! 31-03-2016 03:10 PM

Who ever said that "Fight Night" needs to describe a mass brawl though? It's hardly an official term from the dictionary, it can mean whatever people want it to.

As far as I'm concerned, any night that results in an assault taking place (as it did) and housemates being placed in separate rooms overnight classifies. That said, it's much more commonly referred to as Spitgate rather than Fight Night 2 so I don't see an issue either way.

Daniel. 31-03-2016 03:12 PM

Fine, that's all I was asking for your opinion. I definitely agree that spitting is gross so don't think I don't.

So are they the only two nights you would consider 'fight night'? I wonder what happened in CBB9.

Marsh. 31-03-2016 03:51 PM

I assumed it was because it was a night that involved the entire house turning on one another.

Jason. 31-03-2016 03:58 PM

I think part of why some people refer to it as a Fight Night or Fight Night 2 is because the feeds were cut off during it and the same happened in BB5 Fight Night and those two occasions were the only time that had ever happened. I think that happening during BB9 made some people view it in the same way as BB5's Fight Night hence fans dubbing it Fight Night 2.

Cal. 31-03-2016 04:31 PM

Dan thinks spitting is awful - he always says Emma was disgusting for spitting at Victor even though he likes her so he wasn't acting like spitting wasn't a serious issue.

I guess this is a good explanation.

Yeah, I don't even know where that came from, spitting is deplorable but isn't fighting and personally I think a fight night should be that - fighting. Otherwise let's call every argument fight night.

Jordan. 31-03-2016 07:18 PM

It's overrated and wasn't even that bad. There has been bigger arguments since that don't get called a fight night.

If it happened now and C5 had LF I don't think they'd cut it. C4 was just pc af then after the race row.

Headie 31-03-2016 07:46 PM

I think it's because it was similar to BB5's Fight Night in the sense that all the housemates got involved one way or another, someone was attacked other than just verbally, and it resulted in an ejection at the end of it all.

Cal. 31-03-2016 07:47 PM

Tbf Channel 5 separate housemates for raising their voices at each other so they probably would have cut it.

The only rows they haven't intervened really quickly in and allowed to escalate slightly are when Danny got in Marc's face and when Tiffany squared up to Megan.

I think if any situation happened where someone was assaulted and the whole house were behaving aggressively towards each other, ch5 would be sh1tting themselves.

Even though the fighting was mostly non physical, I think people refer to it as a "fight night" because of the whole house being involved, the level of aggression, and that it involved possibly the single worst act we've seen on BB.

Emma did the same four years earlier, not to mention people were hit.

I don't even think spitting is that bad, just gross sorry http://cdn.thisisbigbrother.com/cust...r59672_899.gif

EspeonBB 31-03-2016 08:06 PM

Probably because it's one of the only fights since BB5 to include most of the house. Ofc it wasn't nearly as bad as Fight Night outside of the spit

That's true, but it just means that the BB5 fight night was worse, it doesn't mean that the BB9 one wasn't still bad, and bad enough to be considered a 'fight night'.

Even if you don't think it's that bad, It's still technically assault http://cdn.thisisbigbrother.com/cust...r59672_899.gif

Jordan. 31-03-2016 08:14 PM

A technically dumb concept http://cdn.thisisbigbrother.com/cust...r59672_899.gif

Daniel. 31-03-2016 08:15 PM

Maxwell putting Scavs in food is THE worst, imo.

C5 would love that lbr and would milk it for all the controversy they could rinse out of it in order get more publicity (bad is good) and ratings

my favourite argument ever :joker:

And it's called fight night 2 because spitting is as bad as violence if not comparable.
