GREAT NEWS.

But; "Wants to concentrate on her singing career"?

:joker::joker::joker::laugh2::laugh2:

Yeah - There are lots of grotty half-empty pubs in Newcastle which could do with a few volunteers on karaoke nights.

I'm glad, I used to like her back in 2008 but she has got on my wick the past few years! Please bring back Nicole. I do feel Rita deserves just one more chance

So the panel should be

Simon
Nicole
Rita
Louis

I don't perticularly like Dermot but he was well received by viewers and I think his departure will have made some turn off, Olly was embarrassing last year.

Cheryl was dull and gave the impression she was there for the money and didn't care about her acts last year so she can go. I hope Sharon doesn't come back though.

They need decent talent and to get rid of the repetitive themes too.

I agree, there's more that needs changing than just the judging panel. As someone who hasn't watched in a few years, I'd certainly be tempted back by the prospect of Danni and/or Nicole returning, but I'd rather see changes to the format for me to be interested in watching again.

The biggest thing for me is that the whole idea of the show is that they are amateur performers with natural talent so what started to put me off over the last few series I watched was the way that come the start of the live shows, they were expected to be polished performers, with flashy staging, dance numbers, just OTT everything, and emphasis on them being 'ready made' popstars akin to existing popstars, and having their marketability commented on, rather than just allowing them over the course of the show to develop as performers and seeing them carve out their own niche, instead of "wow you're going to be the next Rihanna so next week you're going to sing one of her songs and dress like her" type thing. I just want to see a bunch of talented people sing and perform and develop and that's it. Strip it all back, no more professional makeovers before the live shows, allow them to sing original songs (I know it's not something they used to do but I'd like it to be introduced), and have it be a showcase for actual talent. It became a bit too much like stars in their eyes for me, and a conveyor belt to churn out carbon copies of existing pop faves. It became too obvious that it's just a cynical money making scheme for Cowell and co rather than a talent competition.

This has now been confirmed by ITV.

Cheryl has decided she will not be returning as a Judge for the next series of The X Factor.

The Girls Aloud star joined The X Factor in 2008. During her time on the show, she mentored two singers to victory - Alexandra Burke in 2008 and Joe McElderry in 2009. She left the show in 2010 before rejoining in 2014.
The singer met with Simon Cowell recently to inform him of her decision. She said: “I have had such an amazing experience being a judge on The X Factor. I have learnt so much and enjoyed nurturing talent but I’ve missed making music and am excited to be recording again.

“I want to thank everybody I have worked with along the way, especially Simon who I love to bits. I hope the show continues to produce stars and I wish them all the best.”

Simon noted: "Cheryl and myself spoke about this. I totally understand her commitment to making more records. She has been amazing on the show and in the near future we will be working on other things together.”

A spokesperson for The X Factor added: “Cheryl has been a great judge and mentor during her time on The X Factor, from her early years of winning with two of her acts – Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry - through to last year’s series where she took Reggie ’N’ Bollie into the final. We’d like to thank Cheryl for her contribution to the show and wish her all the best with her return to music.”

Cheryl has enjoyed her involvement with the hit show but has decided to focus on her music career. She has started work on a new album which will be released later this year.

This will follow her successful albums; 3 Words, Messy Little Raindrops, A Million Lights and Only Human. She remains the first female British solo artist to have had five Number One singles.
