Do we really need the perversion, Russell?

I think that for a supposedly intelligent society, there is so much perversion, eg. Russel Brand. is this really necessary? Then we wonder why our kids are all messed up. We have to deal with the problems as preversity pervades the media and enters our kids minds. How is Russell different from a porn essay or magazine as his images are so visual. Buck up Russell.

His shows are obviously popular otherwise E4 would've dropped them. Many people like his way of interviewing and presenting because he takes away the seriousness of things and it's just a bit of fun.

Russell Brand tarnishing children's minds? No chance, we have real life events in the world to do that.
EDIT: And kids shouldn't be watching at that time anyway :nono: Watersheds are there for a reason.

rooterwar 28-01-2007 10:58 PM

mmm I find him funny but he goes OTT sometimes, but I am an adult and can read between the lines and see him for what he is, but kids watch him on BB :conf: and for that reason, within the context of BB, he should tone it down a bit:kiss:

Psylocke 28-01-2007 11:02 PM

he went overboard tonight the lad,but bless he was overexcited.lol.
long live russ

Shilpa, Jermaine and Dirk are going to all go away thinking the British public are all vile and weird, which is not true as my wife is English and lovely :thumbs2:

J.C. 28-01-2007 11:06 PM

There will be many changes.More humour and a little less perversion.

expat 28-01-2007 11:07 PM

Russell is handsome, Russell is very talented. I have heard his literary and historical allusions but they need to be channelled in a more uplifting manner. Call me old fashioned but where are the good old english days of verbal charm and wit that had lesson or two about real life that someone could draw from many years after. Is perversity the excuse for having a modern society? Shame Shame Shame. Back to good old standards from nan and gramps. What you contantly hear, you will reproduce adn ultimately become. Hmmmm.

Really though, it was on late. Any kids exposed to TV at this time can't blame people like Russell Brand for tarnishing innocent minds, but instead the parents that let the kids watch TV past watershed.

I watch Russell and my innocent mind has yet to be tarnished.

im a pervert and i need perversion........

I consider myself a big kid

Red Moon 28-01-2007 11:32 PM

Russell is just Russell. He is the same as he is on the radio. If you don't like him turn him off.

I think this years show is much better than last years.

Psylocke 28-01-2007 11:39 PM

^^ agreed 200%

expat 28-01-2007 11:40 PM

See what I mean, so entrenched in perversion, don't even know it's not supposed to be. Yuk. Just accept it and live it and continue to complain about the young people around you. Hey, don't strive to be any role model.

Depends what you define as a role model.
Many people see Russell Brand as a role model, whereas others see Ghandi as a role model.
Just because they aint your cuppa tea doesn't mean you're in the right.

I agree sometimes Russell goes over the top, but his show is still successful and so the viewers clearly like it.

Red Moon 28-01-2007 11:43 PM

Thee are two types of role models. The ones to avoid and ones to become. You make your own choices in life. Hopefully you chose the right ones.

easypeasy 28-01-2007 11:49 PM

russel has brain washed me into satanic worship and brown love.....please ban him from my tv.

expat 28-01-2007 11:51 PM

Dirty minds equals dirty life. Simple as that. Maybe Russell is the reason many young people are walking around lusting and having wanking and other images in their minds instead of let's say.....appreciating the flowers or a rainbow.

Thats a very big generalisation you just made.
And whats so wrong with lusting?

James 29-01-2007 01:44 AM

I don't like his opening monologues on BBBM but his banter with the audience is good.

Oh come on You're going to blame Russell Brand for everything that you don't like in the world?

First of all, children shouldn't be watching the show at that time. Second of all, you can always use the off button on your remote if you don't like him.
