Underwhelmed is a overstatement

Shaun 23-04-2016 05:26 PM

She has two acting credits. One of those was an episode of Doctors. OK then...

she seems irritating.

AProducer'sWetDream 23-04-2016 05:26 PM

I was hoping for Rakhee Thakrar but she seems really good from that little clip. Very different from Clara so I'm looking forward to seeing how her and Peter Capaldi interact.

Firewire 23-04-2016 05:27 PM

I reserve judgement until I see her first episode. Nice that she's a woman of colour though!

Lostie! 23-04-2016 05:28 PM

Saw the clip on TV, excited for her! :)

Can't say I really care how much or little she's been in so far, it's not a prerequisite for the new companion to be played by a household name.

Denver 23-04-2016 05:29 PM

Tbf I was always going to be disappointed with anyone who was Rahkee

Marsh. 23-04-2016 05:30 PM

Hard to judge her straight away off a random clip. I was expecting someone well known considering the time slot for the announcement.

But, I do like that they seem to have gone back to a normal girl being introduced to the Doctor over a sassy, know-it-all with a mystery around them again.

Love her already Unknowns > Big Names

_Tom_ 23-04-2016 05:40 PM

That trailer is tragic :umm2:

I haven't paid attention to Doctor Who since Matt Smith's first series, but I actually really like this new companion from what I saw in the clip.

I like that she just seems like a normal, everyday-like character. I think Stephen Moffat has got too caught up with trying to make people like Amy, River Song and Clara far too complex. I loved the simplicity of Russell T Davies taking a normal person and having their life completely change by The Doctor, as oppose to having a character which The Doctor's world revolves around...if that makes sense.

VanessaFeltz. 23-04-2016 05:53 PM

it is not catherine tate so

goodbye

Firewire 23-04-2016 05:55 PM

Well it was never going to be Catherine Tate was it

Greg! 23-04-2016 06:04 PM

Why is the character name Bill that's almost umm2 worthy

Samm 23-04-2016 06:06 PM

I'm hopeful she's just a normal gal and not some big mystery

She looks older than Rose and Clara did when they joined. :joker:

I like her. She seems interesting.

This is why I like relatively unknown actors. I've never seen her in anything before so I have virtually no idea what she'll be like in the role... which is much more interesting to watch.

Definitely, I liked Clara and Amy, but the whole "most important person in the universe" gets tired after a while, lol.

Ashley. 23-04-2016 09:44 PM

Think she's alright, I just can't wait for them to get rid of Capaldi. Love him in anything else but under Moffat's writing :yuk: Pure cheese.

Marsh. 23-04-2016 09:45 PM

Doctor Who is pure cheese no matter who's writing or acting in it, let's be honest.
