I got my first job today

Working in a charity shop on a Saturday, I started today it's really fun.

I've picked up everything quite quickly, I like being at the till.

You'll love it Will, I volunteered at PDSA for 2 and a half years and it was great. Plenty of experience to pick up too

A few years back I thought I would do a good deed and volunteer in a charity shop, they stuck me in the back sorting through people's rubbish, Zi never got near the till :fist: my good deed came to a halt after week 4

Will. 14-05-2016 04:59 PM

First day over :)

Mistakes I made:

Given customers the wrong card machine receipt.
Charging a woman 50P less than the item was, but she said it was £3 (It was £3.50)
little trouble working the card machine

Yeah the other kid there was just in the back, perhaps he felt confident with me being it at the till although I did just gravitate towards it lol

Did you enjoy it? :)

lily. 14-05-2016 06:12 PM

Yeah, I did. The only reason I gave it up was time-constraints. I had college 3 days a week, and a paying job at the weekend, so something had to give.

Voluntary work is a great thing to have on your CV and University application, good on you for taking initiative.
