Reece says people who dont need brain checks , do you agree?

Denver 18-05-2016 09:36 PM

Yes you should always support your country and teams from it

Calderyon 18-05-2016 09:44 PM

Only if the team is named Man Utd it´s okay not to support them.

I always support HJK, Haka etc. when they play in the Champions League/European League qualifications and try to advance.

And then bash them harshly when they lose to club teams from N.I, Estonia, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Malta etc.

MTVN 18-05-2016 09:54 PM

I have never supported another English team in Europe and have loved it every time they have ****ed up like tonight

Mystic Mock 18-05-2016 09:58 PM

Shouldn't people just support teams that they like rather than where they come from?

Because if that's the case then shouldn't every Londoner support all of the London teams? And that all Brummies support all of the Midlands teams?

x2

^ Sure you can do that too. I do that, even though there are not much of those kind of teams, but that´s probably because i don´t watch much of club based football nowadays and like international football more (countries).

But i do find it hard to not to support a Finnish team when they play against a team from another country even if the team was my favorite like Ajax (because of Litmanen) or Hyypiä (because of Hyypiä) etc.

Yes.

I hold a special affection for Birmingham having been a supporter since being young.

However who plays the best football gets my support really, no matter the team or where they are from.

Depends who it is. I'll support liverpool because I have family and friends who do, and I have nothing against city so I'd support them, but Chelsea and United can suck a fat one.

billy123 19-05-2016 07:42 AM

I support any British club in Europe except Manchester united they have a particularly bitter and not very intelligent element to their support. A larger than usual number of their support are really not very pleasant.

Nicky91 19-05-2016 07:52 AM

i only support Manchester United and i will be supporting Leicester city for the upcoming Champions League :)

Crimson Dynamo 19-05-2016 08:08 AM

i always want the UK team to win. even arsenal

im even pleased for Scotland if Celtic win :umm2:

In the Euros I will be supporting NI, Wales, England and Republic with equal vigour

Drew. 19-05-2016 09:47 AM

Depends on the circumstances. I wouldn't use the word support but I was backing Liverpool to win last night. I don't mind Liverpool and have no connections to Sevilla so it would have been good to see an English side winning it. Had it been Chelsea for instance then no chance, there are some teams id never back to win. If Liverpool were playing a foreign team like Valencia who I really like then I'd have backed them so it all depends

'Lets have it straight yeah, they're just a plastic team who got lucky and you're telling me you want them to win Europa League!!??'

That's an awful thing to say. Unless you have met EVERY fan from EVERY club then you really have no idea.
I go to games week in week out & can safely say ALL clubs have stupid fan's but to say Manchester United have a larger than usual number really means you are very narrow minded.

I hear you Tarryn and i can only base it on 30+ years of matchgoing but Take the piss out of Liverpool fc all you like and i wont get offended but there is that line that anybody with common sense knows where it is.
That line gets crossed a fair bit but hey thats banter right? In my experience there are a set of fans that have absolutely no respect for anyone and anything to do with that line and even brag about it by chanting "we do what we want"
Im not tarring the whole club with the same brush but MUFC fans have a much higher arsehole to fan ratio to any club i know.

I live near and work in Manchester i observe this every day without even mentioning who i support and i can promise you the further MUFC fall from grace over the last 5 years the more bitter and nasty a lot of them have become.

MTVN 19-05-2016 02:01 PM

Was Liverpool fans embarrassing English football again last night by fighting Sevilla fans in the stands

Or when they lie about Chelsea/United fans disrespecting their Hillsborough mural so they have an excuse to attack elderly fans after games.. Or when they chant racist terms about Patrice Evra.
-----

Anyway. I never support the English team except for Tottenham and now Leicester next year. Can't bring myself to want Liverpool,City, Chelsea or Arsenal to win.

In the Euros, I will strictly be supporting England only too. Hopefully the other home nations crash out in the first round :idc:

Crimson Dynamo 19-05-2016 02:56 PM

or when man u players in their bus try to knock down west hams fans going about their business at the ground

You & I must be roughly the same age as I started supporting United in 84' when I was 5, I go to a lot of games not just United one's & I just don't agree with you. Liverpool have had a much bigger fall from grace over a longer period of time & I'm not going to start calling them stupid even when I've been to Anfield & heard SOME of their supporters saying disgusting things. You get total pricks at every ground, that's life.
SOME fan's are bitter & go to matches just to chant/sing/say insulting & quite frankly vile things. You get this at every ground. I'm passionate about my team & stand up for them when talking to rival supporters even when I don't agree with what my team is doing, it's like family, you stand by them.
You just can't say that one club has more fan's that are bad over other clubs.
It's just wrong. Go to some European grounds & observe their fan's. It's far worse.
I RESPECTFULLY 100% disagree with what you say :fist:
