What is yin and yang?

I've been trying to read up on the concept but I don't understand it?

MB. 22-05-2016 09:21 PM

They're the Siamese twins they've cast for this year's series

Thank you for your valuable contributions. I understand perfectly.

Yin and yang, light and dark, male and female, bad and good, fire and water etc etc

Will. 22-05-2016 09:26 PM

So Basically it's good vs bad.

one negative and feminine (yin) and other uplifting/happy masculine (yang).

And there interactions have consequences and influences on things.

Marsh. 22-05-2016 09:26 PM

Not Will being sexist.

It's about two opposing forces needing each other to survive and having a bit of each in the other to balance it out.

Yin and yang can be thought of as complementary (rather than opposing) forces that interact to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts. Everything has both yin and yang aspects, (for instance shadow cannot exist without light)

Actually makes pretty interesting reading within the context..

Quote:

In Chinese thought the two great opposite but complementary forces at work in the cosmos. Yin is the female, cold, dark, passive power, yang represents masculinity, light, and warmth. Earth, rain, soft, evil, black, small, even (numbers), are yin; heaven, sunshine, hard, good, white, large, and odd are yang. The interplay of the two forces makes up chi, or the material principle governing the universe. Their balance is essential to harmony and health. The Yin/Yang School of Chinese philosophy, perhaps founded by Tsou-Yen (c.305–240 bc), is an early attempt at a cosmology, based on the opposition of yin and yang and a doctrine of Five Elements (metal, wood, water, fire, and earth), operating in ordered cycles in the production of nature and history.

I mean I was close

Will. 22-05-2016 09:28 PM

Could this mean females vs males?

It would work considering BB females are normally more argumentative and negative?

Cal. 22-05-2016 09:33 PM

Thanks but I really don't understand the articles on it but yeah I get it so they're opposites

I wouldn't mind males vs females if the females all got passes to the final

Will. 22-05-2016 09:35 PM

Yeah so to make it simple:

Yin - Bad/feminine
Yang - Good/masculine

(The views above are not those of mine)
