Does Rylan hinder or help the show?
 

I know most on here dislike him but quite a few of the people I've spoken with this week (college and work so a mixture of ages) really like him.

So is he kind of helpful to BB? He has 1.3 million twitter followers and he's always tweeting about the show and he talks about it on This Morning...I do wonder if it's necessary to suffer him for the promo.

He makes it all about Rylan.
Let's see on launch night how many times he manages to say "I", "Me", "Myself" or "Rylan".

I think he very much appeals to the audience channel 5 actually want for the show. They've never seemed that interested in wanting to keep the hardcores happy anyway. This time next year it'll be Rylan coming out of the eye saying "Hello and welcome to Big Brother 2017."

His chat show is Channel 5's way of paving the way for him taking over when Emma leaves. Her recent interview when she said that she was going to keep presenting Big Brother "for a while" is a far cry from the crazy fan girl she was when she first started.

Yeah, I get the feeling she was referring to her contract, which probably holds her for another year and then she'll jump ship.

I'd be gutted if Emma went :(

Rylan somehow seems to be taking over the world. He's literally everywhere. I can't knock the bloke for managing to do so well for being a **** singer on the X Factor but :umm2:

I used to watch the show for the aftershow when I first started watching... but Rylan somehow makes both worse

I think he gets a lot of stick on here but not really anywhere else.

He's a normal young lad with a bit of ambition. He wanted to be famous, he wanted to be on the telly and its happened for him. He proved time and again that he can carry a show. He's got his own views, hes not a puppet. He brings his own personality to the show.

Yes, he may be a bit loud and in your face for some people's taste. But he's working on a light entertainment show its not newsnight.

Plus he's an out gay man who is a big part of what is still a pretty big show on UK TV after all these years.

Don't really care that much, but the hate he gets on here is a tad tiresome at times

He's fine and BOTS was always unwatchable OTT crap.

Yeah this. I have actually stopped watching BOTs because I can't bear him, him, him, him. I only watched that show to hear peoples opinions on what was going on in the house not to have an hour of the Rylan show

I think he has a dedicated following of fans on social media but my guess would be more people have stopped watching BOTS since he's taken over than fans of his that have started watching it, i would say the sooner he's gone the better but he seems to be right in the mix of everything that goes on with BB now that i can't see him leaving

Looks like Emma will be leaving soon and Rylan will take over - which means the quirky sleazy dancers and gay-references from Brian's time are coming back to the live shows.

Hindrance for me. I find him unwatchable. But overall he's probably helpful for the show (even though I hate to admit it) because he is quite popular. As much as I can't watch BOTS because of him, there's probably more people who do watch it because they like him.

He shows enthusiasm but it's more enthusiasm for the fact that he's on TV more than the show imo

Maybe not more than Emma, but I'm guessing they must get feedback that people like him, otherwise surely they'd have axed him already. It's the only reason I can think of for why they keep him.

I don't mind him. I find most of bots unwatchable but that's not down to Rylan it's down to all the pointless segments that actually have nothing to do with big brother or the housemates just to fill time. I think nightly we should get about half an hour of a panel talking about the show we have just watched and then maybe something similar to diary room uncut and then on a Friday after the eviction an hour of bots and maybe a Sunday day time bots aswell. I actually quite like rylans chat show, well some bits of it are beyond awful but the interviews are good

I liked him in CBB, and I don't really mind him overall. I do think some of the hate he gets on here is OTT. I hate him being in the trailers and promo pics, but aside from that I don't have a problem with him. I don't think he's the reason why BOTS is crap. BOTS is trash because they have the same panellists (Dan Wooton, Michelle Visage, etc) on every night and you have silly segments like Dr. Dance and the psychologists which just ruin it for me and make it boring and unwatchable, not because of Rylan - I low-key enjoyed BOTS during the first few series where he presented (BB14, CBB13, BB15). It's become crap in the last year or so.

I find him annoying but he does a good job at promoting the show so he's a help i guess

But if he ever presents the main show I don't think I will be able to watch

not my fave....but he's ok
