Jasmine Elcock set to land record deal from Simon Cowell

Jasmine Elcock is apparently set to bag a record deal from Simon Cowell after her stunning performance on the Britain's Got Talent 2016 final reduced his girlfriend Lauren Silverman to tears.

Jasmine had impressed on the ITV talent show from her first audition, when presenters Ant and Dec chose to award her their Golden Buzzer.

Her rendition of Cyndi Lauper's 'True Colours' won rave reviews in Saturday's final, and she came fourth in the public vote - beating fellow singer Beau Dermott, who had been a favourite to win for most of the series.

According to The Sun, Simon is now set to meet with executives at his firm Syco to pick which of this year's contestants they should sign - and Jasmine is thought to be top of the list after the mogul noticed Lauren's emotional reaction.

"Simon and senior record bosses were very impressed with Jasmine and the way she controlled her songs. He mentioned that publicly," a source commented.

"I would be very surprised if she didn’t have a future, especially with her infectious smile."

A Syco spokesperson said that a decision had yet to be made.

Lauren was in the studio audience for Saturday's show, and Simon reportedly mouthed the word "amazing" to her after Jasmine's appearance.

Bookies are offering odds of 8/1 that Jasmine will release her debut single before the end of the year.

Don't really have high hopes considering Asanda and Arixsa a couple of years ago, but Asanda was a little brat anyway so I hope that Jasmine does well, lovely little girl.

I'm pleased for her. Her voice is so beautiful and she comes across really charming and lovely.

She's probably sleeping with him.

She should wait a few years and try to build a music career when she's older if it's what she really wants to do, hopefully eventually signing with a different label. I doubt a child singer under Syco has much of a future tbh.

So she'll get one badly promoted single and then be swiftly dropped.

I feel sorry for her, she should go elsewhere. Cowell has an awful track record beside 1D.

Rude!! Not my Jasmine :nono:

I actually wish she would take a couple of years and finish being a child before pursuing a music career... If the industry chews her up and spits her out so young, it might discourage her. And I would hate for her to have to start singing **** music that Simon Cowell decides is in the wheelhouse of popular...

But I do look forward to her album someday... I cried all three times she performed... But the original Cher song was the best

Her rendition of Cyndi Lauper's 'True Colours'

Well it's nice to see that she picked very unpredictable, interesting song choices during her stint.
