GOTS(spoilers) - Whose death shocked you most?
Neds or Robbs?
I think Neds just inches it for me still but I really was convinced that Neds death was all to line Robb up as the Savior of the series....how wrong was I? |
Ned tbh... I didn't think it would actually happen

For me it was Ned, the House of Stark mourned a true hero when he died, Lady Catelyn must have been devastated and Benjen. Gandalf and Professor Snape lost a true friend when he died.:bawling:

Its very difficult to ascertain the plot from my GOT season by season nudescenes videos on youtube you know :nono:
|
Ned because at the time I didn't know anything about the books. With Robb I always saw it coming.
|
Ned, mainly because he was built up to be the protagonist of the show and you don't expect him to actually die
I would have been a lot more shocked by Robs death but I saw a spoiler the day before it aired :( |
Robb
|
Ned was honestly so shocking I honestly thought the next episode would reveal him to still be alive.
With Robb the entire red wedding episode made me feel quite uncomfortable and I knew something bad would happen, wasn't expeting anything that bad but when everything kicked off I didn't have much hope. |
idk I think Ned seemed to have quite a lot of foreshadowing... plus I mean he's played by Sean Bean so it's inevitable he's going to snuff it sooner or later.
I knew nothing about the Red Wedding so that came out of nowhere for me. So I voted for Robb. Oh and whose* Niamh :nono: |

I knew about them both before I saw them (I started watching GoT after the first two seasons had aired so I'd already heard about Ned and I knew about the Red Wedding for a good while before it happened in the show) but I was really shocked when I first heard about Ned since, from all the promotion I'd seen for the show, I assumed he was the main protagonist for the entire show.
Of course I was really shocked when I first heard about the Red Wedding too, but by that point GoT had already been well established as a show where nobody is really safe, whereas I feel Ned's death was the first moment that really made that clear. |
Neds death happened fairly early in the show when they were still laying out plotlines and so on so it wasn't a massive shock to see one of those stories meet an untimely ending. Robb's story on the other hand was a product of that Ned killing and felt like something they were building to for a long time - it really seemed like he was going to be eventually facing off with the others battling for the iron throne and we didn't know that much about the other contenders for it at the time of Ned's death. That's why Rob dying will always feel like the more major storyline for me
|
Ned
He was the first major star to die, I didn't see it coming at all, Robb shocked me but by the time he died I was sort of used to big characters dying on the show so I was like :o for like a minute but when Ned died I was :o for about an hour |
Well , since I found out about both events via book, I am still shocked to this day that Ned died in the first book. I was addicted to the story already, but that event turned everything on its head. Robb was shocking, but on a different level. By then I was praying no more stark deaths knowing full well J RR Martin had no mercy for them. Ned clinches it for me.
|
Ned since I thought he was the Rick Grimes type character of GOT.
|
WELL
|
When I saw this thread my thoughts were pretty much
"Um... everyone's?!" |
still Robb's I suppose :worry: knew the fire would happen just didn't know who'd be inside.
|
I'm shaken after what happened to Marg tbh
