HELP!!!

So basically my leg goes numb quite a lot, like when I sit down on my bed I tend to sit with one of legs underneath each other or sometimes cross legged.

Is it normal for my leg to go numb when sitting like this?

Am I going to die?

I get this too and pain in my hips, I found a lump and I've had many cancer scares but it's turned out to be a cyst and swollen lymph node but go to your doctor to get it checked.

...no I don't think that you will Die, Will....but it's always good to go to your GP about any concerns ..it sounds as though it may be a blood circulation thing and could be of those positions you're sitting in../cross legged etc..?..because that can cause pins and needles/numbness...it's a good thing to keep stretching/walking around and just not staying in the same position for too long also to keep the blood flow going smoothly...but go to the GP for sure, yeah....

Not to be insensitive but... are you fat? Or do you sit in "odd" positions?

It sounds like you're putting pressure on the nerves that run into your legs which will numb them (when the feeling starts to come back the nerve ****zes out, that's the cause of pins and needles). However that's not entirely normal UNLESS you're quite heavy, or you're sitting in a strange way that puts pressure on your legs. If it's the latter, it's not dangerous in itself, but I'd suggest finding a better sitting position because sitting with your legs twisted under you or at strange angles will **** up your knees and hips in the long run.

Fun extra story: My legs always go numb when I sit for 1 hour + on the toilet browsing TiBB :flutter:. It's the way the toilet seat presses the back of the legs. But I quite like the feeling of pins and needles so I let it happen :umm2:.

Yeah but when the feeling comes back you get pins and needles... Surely?

But yeah anyway it's the weight combined with sitting in a bad position, pitting pressure on a nerve. Not dangerous in itself but, like I said, unrelated to the numbness, if you don't sit properly you'll end up with hip / knee problems in later life :nono:.

Most embarrassing thing that's happened to me at work...I was sat with my legs crossed, didn't realise I had a dead leg, got up to go and ask somebody something and just fell over because I had no feeling in my leg and couldn't stand :joker:

It's normal.
