Is the Other house twist the biggest BB twist failure ever?

Opinions?

Samm 11-06-2016 10:01 PM

No because without it we wouldn't have some iconic housemates, and I don't think it's going to be meant to be kept top secret for long anyway

MB. 11-06-2016 10:02 PM

It's more entertaining this way

Drew. 11-06-2016 10:03 PM

The whole show is one big crumbling disaster

Will. 11-06-2016 10:03 PM

No that would be 4 in 4 out

LukeB 11-06-2016 10:04 PM

Yes, BB don't seem to care about it being exposed and they have never told them to be quiet either.. it's a very lazy twist

Pete. 11-06-2016 10:04 PM

No people the highlights we did get of the other house were great, it only went downhill when they (again) tried to tamper with it

Tregard 11-06-2016 10:06 PM

This one is almost entertainingly broken, so I enjoy that. Timewarp was pretty broken. But I think the most botched twist ever was the Golden Pass, that screwed an entire series from Day 2.

Biggest failure ever. Gonna watch it, but I don't believe that nothing is real there anymore. Even that Chelsea/Ryan fight was acted (poorly).

Jamesy 11-06-2016 10:12 PM

Yes, but can't help but laugh, not just because it's hilarious seeing how messy the production of this show is, but because in a few months there will be a board of directors in C5 offices wondering why Big Brother did not perform as they expected, and order an even more OTT twist for BB18

Yes, but a hilariously messy failure and I've enjoyed it

Lostie! 11-06-2016 10:26 PM

In terms of it actually working how they wanted, yes. In terms of it providing brilliant TV, not by a long shot.

erinp5 11-06-2016 10:28 PM

How much did they spend on the other house ...and for what , the worst keep secret ever.

jaxie 11-06-2016 10:34 PM

Pretty sure it's out of the bag now!

100%

Unraveled faster than Helen Wood at a party in Dubai.

It's been a complete waste so far.

It would have been a good twist if it wasn't so obviously fake. The people with connections obviously knew what was going on before they went into the house, that's why Jason and Sam have gone to lengths to talk about Ryan and Charlie to set up their preplanned storylines.

The Saboteur twist says hello

What Will said. I think the issue really is they are not making any effort to cover this up which is why many suspect its all fake.

Personally I couldnt give a monkeys if its entertaining-but it does spoil it when they have no consistency.

i dont think it was ever meant to be a secret that there was a second house... but i do think the secret was knowing who was in it and what they were plotting for the other house.

i liked todays episode but i feel like a problem with paying housemates to go in, is that they don't care if they are there or not. why not 12 people who could really use that 100,000? they wouldnt be opening the fire exits after one bad night. just takes away the smoke a mirrors for me a bit...

im an aussie watching the show, and though our show was absolutely butchered by the editing and terrible twists, one thing i can concede is that BB was always seen as the one in control. the housemates suffered and wanted to win by playing by his own unfair rules. BBUK's BB has no control and doesn't punish the housemates enough. what were the repercussions of any of this? but what CAN you do when youve paid half your housemates and they dont care about the game?

drantb 12-06-2016 02:09 AM

They can't have honestly thought it would last long as a secret. We worked out the twist in February - and if forum goers can work it out, no doubt people who are constantly networking with Viacom/MTV/Endemol are going to be privvy to that sort of information regardless.

10 years ago it would have worked and been HUGE.

No.

While it was certainly unfair on Ameh and Salleh, we got rid of Harriet/Sarah/Kieran as a result and got Hazza Amel and Sam

wendywillow 12-06-2016 03:36 AM

what happened to bb...? they used to have new twists...they've done the other house pretty much every year, how can it even be a twist they all know it

Garfie 12-06-2016 05:08 AM

Although the twist hasn't really worked, I"ve actually enjoyed watching the other house, so I don't feel it's been an entire failure.

I agree that BB needs to take control and issue consequences to those who left the house- they need to be placed in the other house and forced to fight for their places back. Maybe they need to be swapped with some of the others as a punishment.

There has to be repercussions and BB needs to make it clear that they are in charge.

BigBrotherfan4ever 12-06-2016 07:08 AM

Even though the twist hasn't really worked, it has been great viewing for us as viewers .....IMHO
