Housemates must have been aware of 'counter parts' entering the house

Hi team,

New to the forums - so I apologise if this subject has already been brought up (I did try searching for a thread but couldn't find one).

My frustration with this thought has lead me to come online and ask what others think - but basically, either the producers think the general public are oblivious, or surely the house mates with 'counter parts' i.e. Sam and Ryan, Chelsea and Jayne, Jason and Charlie - that one of the pair must have at least known the other was going to be in house or involved in the show in some way.

I mean the fact that both Sam and Jason were quizzed specifically on the individuals in question - and they went into detail about their grievances with Ryan/Charlie - are we, the viewers, expected to believe that their counter parts 'just so happened' to apply for the show? I'd like to think not.

Therefore I would assume that Ryan, Charlie and Jayne were specifically approached about entering the Big Brother house, and the producers must surely have explained to them why they were approached.

Does anyone know the specifics of how this all came about?

Ultimately - it's just made me further see how much of this show is now being staged. The fact that Marco posted pics of himself on his Instagram with Laura some 90 weeks ago also proves they knew each other (in some degree) on the outside - so this whole 'housemate romance' or whatever it is they have had going on was either planned, or at least encouraged.

Apologies if this first post of mine is coming across as a bit ranty....I guess I am just a bit salty that this show, which was so revolutionary for it's time when it first aired, and to which I was obsessed with for the first 4 - 5 seasons, has now become something so contrived, that it's almost like watching some really bad equivalent to Geordie Shore, or those other faux reality shows....

Anyways enough of my rant - would just love to know what other people think/know.

Many thanks

Luke

Hi & welcome, Luke

Yes, there have been a lot of threads about the points you raise, with a lot of speculation, but no solid conclusions.

Always interesting to get another POV.

"Housemates must have been aware of 'counter parts' entering the house".Of course they were. I find it funny that there are still many of those who are are saying that it's not fake or scripted. It has been getting really bad this season. Gonna watch it, but if producers did think that they will get more ratings, they were so ********* wrong this year. Producers should get kicked out and get some new who get it back to original concept. BB is not Survivor, concept is completely different.

Those VT's that the others were shown e.g. Sam talking a lot about Ryan and Jason roasting Charlie made me skeptical. It was obviously the producers fishing for drama.

If you were truly aware of the show you should not bring up any names during the audition or lockdown process. The producers always seem to try and bring people's exes or old connections to spark conflict, it's never organic these days.

I know that years ago in BB Aus, they would have housemates list the names of their exes, family members, friends etc, so that way producers could see if anyone they knew were also auditioning by matching their names with other application forms, so if they wanted to put two enemies or former partners in the house it would be done through the normal housemate auditions and not through recruiting which seems a bit stalkerish.

Funniest thing that there are still those super-fans who are still trying to confidence to emself that "ok, maybe it is fake, but i still love, maybe it is even best season ever!" Even it's not.

It seems that no one believes this theory over here, but thanks to bring it up YoyoLuke. You are not the only one. There are many too many blind BB fans who do not wanna even admit what is goin on this season.
