An insufferably pompous arse?

There's something about this guy that rubs me up the wrong way.

It could be the face...

https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images...6/vYcvgkZo.jpg

It could be his profile reading the following...

"He believes he is intelligent and he likes people to know that. He believes his opinions and views are correct and he likes to have them heard"

It could be that he believed Tyson Fury should have been taken off the SPOTY awards for having views he deemed unacceptable (never mind that most of the country couldn't care less)

Or it could be his face...

Or the arrogant manner in which he lectures the BBC...

"I am ashamed to work for the BBC when it lacks bravery to admit it is making a mistake."

Yeah, it's definitely the combination of smugness and anger.

Would you trust this man?

I'm yet to see any evidence of this.

Jamie89 19-06-2016 08:53 AM

I agree with what you're saying, been saying it myself since day 1. He irritates me no end.

y.winter 19-06-2016 09:03 AM

I appreciate his "suicidal" announcement as a BBC reporter, it takes character doing such thing (I guess you could say it's somewhat arrogant and foolish thing to do, but it was from the heart).
I can understand his thirst for intelligent people and conversations (and the lack of it in the house).
The only thing that bothers me about him is when we he started getting over-friendly with Marco, what was it all about? Too artificial thing to do after stating his opinions on people of his kind.

Maria26 19-06-2016 09:04 AM

I liked him at the beginning but he is starting to get on my nerves. There is just something about him, he's giving me a vibe that I don't like. He is indeed arrogant and look down on people. I guess I understand why they call him sly. Also, there is something really fake about the way he spoke to Marco the other day. What was that?

Vanessa 19-06-2016 09:07 AM

I like him and I appreciate him trying to give Marco advice. He needs more friends like this and less yes people.

what do you mean with yes people?

Dylan95 19-06-2016 09:16 AM

I kind of see this, I get the vibe he thinks he's above everyone hence why he's not bonding with everyone

One of my main issues with him, is the way he seems to have such a superior view of himself because of this. Being intelligent might make him stand out from most housemates, and it might be an admirable thing in itself, a good thing to see in a housemate etc, but being intelligent doesn't mean you have to also be condescending towards people who aren't/less intelligent than themselves. And that's a really bad and unnecessary trait to have, imo.

I've given up having faves on this show (It's too depressing an experience). So now I just get down to disliking certain housemates.

I couldn't agree more. And this is really rubbing me off the wrong way. He's condescending.

I don't mind him either at least he isn't two faced, not that I've seen anyway:wavey:

hot2go 19-06-2016 10:19 AM

He doesn't have a superior view, he just is superior to most of them in emotional intelligence and has integrity and that's not same thing ...not his fault some of them are emotionally retarded and in turn make him look so much better than they are.
Better to proud that your intelligent than to be proud that you're stupid and amoral ....he has humour so sees the irony in so much that takes place, an observation totally lost on a lot of them.
Don't have a fave now but he is one of the top ones for me.....he's gonna be great for exposing others true personalities....he's already shown us what Sam is all about, not that I needed any proof

I don't really see him as condescending. In contrast to most of the others he comes across to me as rational, reasonable and discerning. Having a journalists mind it is par for the course that he's going to comment on things in a more critical way than most. He's not rude, he's not loud, he's not attention seeking, he has a sense of humour and he doesn't run around shirtless or bare assed. And he can string whole sentences together. :hee: I'm liking him a lot.

VanessaFeltz. 19-06-2016 10:33 AM

i would trust him... in bed :hee:

I find him condescending, rude and utterly humourless

Some people are just piss take victims for England , you have to take the piss out of em....it's not condescending, it's just British :laugh: they invite it on themselves and if they have a brain and the ability to laugh at themselves then they can give as good as they get and laugh too...like Andy and Jason do with each other.
That is a big diff between main house and others....main house has less humour and def less fun because of it.

but condescending is not the only problem for me. He's rubbng me the wrong way. I think he is sneaky and sly. Personally, I wouldn't trust him.

I don't agree with you Yaki Da ...I don't think that most the country couldn't care less about homophobic sports personalities being awarded ....most of us don't want to award homophobic wanders with any kind of prize...
If the boxer thinks he is superior to gay people than your thread is a complete contradiction and hypocritical, wouldn't you agree....you don't care if a bigotted boxer thinks he's superior but you care that you think Andy is.

My fave moment so far by a mile was when Snidey Sam and Lateysha walked away from the garden bench the moment Marco arrived and Marco then went into brave front mode and started singing like a loon...that in itself was brilliant for me, he looked like a cross between a young Keith Richards and Stephen Hawkins  but the cherry on the cake are was the way Andy stared at him in disdain, took a drag on his fag then turned away in complete indifference.....LOL....LOL....LOL...he has the best expressions that can speak volumes and are funny as f-ck...I love watching him but I love cats so I would....it's like a cat playing with all the little mice for its own amusement  he's brilliant
