Ofcom to investigate Laura and Marco's antics

Ofcom has announced it has launched an investigation into Big Brother 2016 after last Sunday's episode.

The show on June 12 has resulted in more than 600 complaints in the past seven days.

634 viewers in total have objected to the highlights show which began with a warning about 'risky sexual activity'.

In the scenes that followed, broadcast after 9PM, Laura Carter was seen strangling and whipping Marco Pierre White Jr with a belt before he sucked her breasts in the garden.

Later the two hit the bedroom and had sex under the covers with their fellow housemates next to them.

"We're investigating whether sexual scenes in this episode of Big Brother exceeded generally accepted standards for its time of broadcast," said Ofcom in a statement today.

Marco became the first housemate to be evicted from the series last Friday and revealed today he and his fiancée had called off their engagement following Big Brother.

He admitted he may have pushed things too far on the show and explained: "I'm in contact with her at the moment, I just spoke to her and I think we've decided to just see how it goes over the next couple of weeks and just be friends for the moment," he explained.

Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.

A mess at how sex on BB garners so much Ofcom complaints nowadays yet LI doesn't get any when they air sexual scenes

BB viewers just complain about anything and are easily offended

Why on earth do ofcom even bother with these silly people who complain.
They are at best in the hundreds out of over a Million likely watching.

Every year they do this and despite the clear and now very lengthy warnings given at the start of the programme, they clearly still watch it.

Ofcom should really stop wasting theirs and the programmers and channels time by paying any heed to this daft minority who do this every series.

Oh for ****S sake. Warnings are clearly given out before the show and EACH SEGMENT when warranted. Why the hell don't people SWITCH OFF or SWITCH over if its not something they are interested in watching. Lots of people watch porn even if they say they don't. If you don't want to see sex on tv or any kind of kinky stuff watch something else. I cant ABIDE people complaining when they have CLEARLY been warned about the content.

They should investigate the fact that this travesty of a show is labelled "Big Brother" when it isn't.

Ammi 20-06-2016 01:34 PM

..it makes all kinds of no sense to me that someone would watch a reality series like BB and then complain to Ofcom about the content.../maybe it's BB themselves who get people to phone/friends etc..for publicity for the show...

...cynical...
