Westworld | Renewed for Season 3
 

Anyone thinking of watching this? I've seen the movie years ago and I remember liking it, the show looks brilliant. Some really good names in the cast (Anthony Hopkins!!) and I'm especially excited about Jonathan Nolan's involvement since Person of Interest is one of my favourite shows so he's already won me over with his take on Artificial Intelligence. For anyone not familiar with the movie, it's about a Wild West themed amusement park called Westworld full of robots that perfectly mimic humans (in the movie there are other areas based on different periods in history too so I wonder if the show will incorporate them eventually).

It's gonna start in October apparently, so a little while to go yet.

Hadn't heard of it until now but the trailer looks interesting

It's been a while since I saw the movie but I remember liking it and the idea of Artificial Intelligence turning on humans is a creepy idea that always interests me in film and television :laugh:

(And yeah I've realised this should have really been in the sci-fi section, I've PM'd Niamh :laugh:)

I haven't seen the film so I might get round to watching that in preparation for this

Yes! Yul Brinner (sp?) was amazing in the original. Hope they recapture his performance.

They just need to remake Demon Seed now. That was proper creepy.

Just read the music's gonna be composed by Ramin Djawadi! He's the man behind the epic Person of Interest and Game of Thrones themes, among others. :clap2:

So many reasons to be excited for this, hope it delivers on it's potential.

October 2nd has been revealed as the official start date in the US, the UK airing likely won't be far behind.

If you like the concept of the BIB then I recommend an Anime called Ergo Proxy if you haven't already watched it.

And I like the look of Westworld, it goes along with my Sense8, Killjoys, and Dark Matter for my Sci-Fi watches.

Oh and I've got to get back into Colony as well.

(It says "mature version" because they've released two versions of the new trailer but the differences are minor tbh :laugh:)

I don't really watch Anime but it's something I've thought about in the past so I'll look into it, cheers.

I love that we got so much more of Anthony Hopkins' character in this one, he seems really sinister.

They've done a tie-in website for Westworld for people to visit as if it was a real place and apparently it's full of little cool easter eggs and hints about the show but it's not available outside of the US :idc:

Which makes it a little awkward that Sky Atlantic have retweeted Thandie Newton tweeting a link to it :laugh:

Quite a few reviews are now out and they're very positive

And the UK airdate has been confirmed as October 4th, so two days after the US airing.
