Government has Ruled NO 2nd Referendum
Government
Has said we must respect the voters Bliss LBC : Live |
Are they gonna do that when 52% vote to leave the UK from Scotland? Or is the 60% or more gonna come into play conveniently at that vote?
|
Good, the voters have made their beds and now they've got to lie in them.
|
Perhaps it is all of Parliaments MPs who should actually be saying that via a vote held in the House of Commons, since this was an all party campaign as to both sides.
Not just the government's. I thought part of the leave argument was to bring to the UK more sovereignty and democracy back to Parliament, not just hand all on a plate to existing government and ignoring all other Parties and MPs views. |

It wasn't a feature last time so after this mess too of a EU vote result,I cannot see how they can force conditions on that now in the future as to a 2nd referendum. I am also pleased that Ruth Davidson the leader of the Scottish Conservatives has said, that Westminster should not try to block a 2nd referendum vote in Scotland if it comes to pass through Holyrood. That would be real and pure hypocrisy. You had good reasons why you did not vote too, I know that, so please ignore lectures you may get. Margaret Thatcher it was who believed that those who did not vote, gave consent to the status quo. Love her or hate her, it is a pity we no longer have any politician like her now, one who really led her party and looked not only at things won and lost but how they were won or lost too. A lot more voted when she was active in Politics too. |
The EU result is only a mess to those who didn't want it. Sadly for them, not enough remainers voted. That's how it works.

We all have made that choice, when you put your mark next to remain you agreed to the majority decision consider your bed made now get on with making the country great again we need dooers not moaners |

So anyone voting Conservative in a general election and getting Labour one should just shut up and get on with it and not moan at the govt.
Likewise vice versa if those voting Labour end up with a Conservative one. What an odd democracy that is, if your real concerns and worries have to be suppressed just because of a vote. Whoever won this referendum should have been the one who got at least 50% of eligible voters for it. Funny how conditions like that can be made to apply to Unions and strike action but not for a major decision as this was. |
