Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says the Black Lives Matter movement is a "farce" and said Americans who hyphenate their racial backgrounds -- such as African-Americans and Asian-Americans -- "further divide our nation."

"#‎BlackLivesMatter‬ is a farce and hyphenating America destroys us," the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee wrote on her Facebook page. "Shame on our culture's influencers who would stir contention and division that could lead to evil such as that in Dallas."

"Shame on politicians and pundits giving credence to thugs rioting against police officers and the rule of law in the name of "'peaceful protests.' It is a farce. #BlackLivesMatter is a farce."

"So if we're to take sides, I side with the Thin Blue Line. To side with our public servants trying to keep law and order amidst political agendas that clearly oppose that virtue is how the good guys win again," she wrote. "It's the only way to ensure our best days will be ahead of us. Join me."

say what you like about her. She stepped up and was Governor of Alaska for 3 years. She did while others just talk.

Short answer here. I don't think anyone would disagree that division does nothing but damage a country... But trying to blame black people for the division in the United States is beyond ridiculous.

At the risk of evoking good old Godwin here... This could apply to Hitler, Stalin, Sadam Hussein... Really you could take your pick of hundreds of those who "did while others talked". It means very little in terms of morality.

She was Governor of Alaska and then she quit. Less than a year after her run for the VP in 2008 she quit as Governor of Alaska. Has she had a job since? No. It could be argued that as soon as she got a little bit of a media spotlight she soon forgot about her duties and responsibility as Governor of that state.

She is a 100% political joke.

That's my take as well.

Both sides have very credible fears and concerns and a real discussion needs to happen. However there are too many political figures, parties, lobbyists, media groups, organizations and now opportunistic celebrities trying to get a piece of the pie and are too busy making money from all the controversy to allow a calm and reasonable discourse to even try to occur in this country.

Discussions about racial differences need to be de-stigmatized. They are for the most part in my area because this city is majority-minority. I love that about here and I think this is what needs to be happening across the country.

Pretty soon there will be no majority and these people whose mindsets are stuck in the past will be left behind. The hispanic population is growing tremendously and they can't just continue to ignore minorities and live happily ever after in their bubble.

Sarah Palin is a farce. Also who the hell cares what Beyonce thinks, she participates in the bleaching of her own culture and she bleaches her own skin ffs. She just wants to sell her CD's and take advantage of a movement for her own gain. She is a native from my area. She knows how far a large community is willing to go to help victims of disaster including what this city went through to help to relocate people from New Orleans after Katrina. She could absolutely do more to spread awareness. Instead she'd rather continue to milk the same community that helped paved the way for her to be successful. Shame on her. Shame on them both. Both are opportunists riding on the backs of those who helped make them who they are today.

I agree with the division thing... but the rest? Well, its Sarah Palin, isn't it.

And this response comes as a surprise to who? People that want to deny prejudice and racism exists maybe but this is exactly the sort of response black people have been hearing for decades and what we've come to expect this is exactly why tension has reached boiling point. :laugh:
And yes, racists expect us to act ''accordingly '' to fix a problem they've created. :laugh: If you truly wanted a ''fix'' actually listen to the voices speaking and acknowledge things from the point of view of the person crying out.

The only actual racism I have seen in the last week is from the shooter in Dallas killing white police officers.

Well shooting a black man eight times who's running away from you does look a bit dodgy to me, as does killing five non-black Police Officers that had nothing to do with the crime at hand.
