I know I said I was leaving (lasted long didn't it)
But I desperatly need help.

Over the past few weeks I have really gone off my food and I just won't eat. If I try and eat something I have the urge to be sick, I made myself sick last night and I felt alot better. But I don't want to get in the habbit of it, so what do I do:puzzled:

Do something now before it gets worse. You could try some of the help lines or these websites:

First Steps to Freedom runs a helpline for anyone experiencing anxiety problems including anorexia and bulimia. The services they offer include counselling, advice, free information pack as well as leaflets and booklists. You can contact the helpline on 0845 120 2916 (every day 10am-10pm). Hi soph

ok, as you slowly begin to eat less your body will slowly require less food but only to a point before it becomes too little and not good for your health.

During this process the thought of eating will make you feel sick, many of us experience this at some time in our lives. There are certain foods that will make you feel worse about eating than others. You need to increase your digestive ability by slowly building up what you eat and the secret is what food to choose to do this that doesn`t make you feel ill just looking at it.I was once ill and during my treatment i too lost my appetite. This may sound silly but as I said there are certain foods that are more appealing than others, and for me I found that raw carrots was the answer. As soon as your stomach starts to require food again you will then not feel sick about eating. If carrots are something you hate you will need to find something else that is equally healthy. This process really doesn`t take long(just days). Obviously if this doesn`t work then you will need to chat with your doctor.I don`t beleive this is anorexia at all but it sounds like it has just slowly got worse by eating less.Anorexia is based on deliberately wanting to be ultra thin and I don`t get that feeling from your reading your post.

Good luck.

Yes, you should.

Then they could rule out anything else. Maybe a stomach/bowel condition. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is really common and can make you feel like that.

Don't panic about it though. You're obviously not doing it to yourself on purpose. But, medical advice is a good idea.

Have you spoken to your mum or dad about it?

aww soph you must get help girl. Have you had anything to eat this morning? Take care
You need to talk to your parents or doctor:flowers:

Hmmm maybe it is IBS.. but I'm not sure

And no, I haven't talked to my parents, they are too busy worrying about my sisters pregnancy, rather than worrying about me. That's why I had to ask all of you

lily. 11-02-2007 11:35 AM

Oh, that's another thing.. there's a lot going on at the moment Soph.. might just be a nervous stomach. See the doc tho.. set ur mind at ease.

Nope. I had toast yesterday though, and that's what made me sick. So I will be keeping away from bread

lily. 11-02-2007 11:38 AM

Have you talked to anyone else about this? Is the pregnancy still worrying you?

Sophii3x 11-02-2007 11:40 AM

No it isn't bothering me anyomore (the pregnancy)
Yes I get the odd people asking me about in school.
But I just say yes and walk off.

I know it's safe now, so I'm fine

lily. 11-02-2007 11:42 AM

How old are you Soph, if you don't mind me asking.

Sophii3x 11-02-2007 11:43 AM

15

lily. 11-02-2007 11:44 AM

Will you be able to go talk to the doc on ur own, or will ur parents want to come with you?

lily. 11-02-2007 11:45 AM

Also, have you considered talking to the school nurse?

Ruth 11-02-2007 11:46 AM

Soph - I had an eating disorder for years. I really wouldn't want to see anyone else go through that. It doesn't sound as though you are making yourself sick to lose weight - more that it's a physical thing that you are feeling, instead of psychological - but please tell me if I have misunderstood you. The danger is that it may turn into a psychological thing, whereby you are deliberately making yourself sick.

All of the associations that Red mentioned will be able to help you - or you can go and see your Doctor. If he/she is unsympathetic, PLEASE don't give up. Ask to see another Doctor at your practice, or seek help elsewhere.

Can you talk to your parents - or another member of your family? You could do with some moral support.

No way!
If I went to her, she'd be straight my head of year and he'll ring my parents

And I probably will be able to go to the docs on my own

Ok, it sounds like you want to do this without your parents being involved.. so that's the path to take at the moment. Obviously I would prefer you talked to your parents, but I do remember what it's like to be 15, and it's not always an option.

lily. 11-02-2007 11:51 AM

Also, if you genuinely feel you can't talk to anyone in ur real life, you know there are plenty of us here who you can talk to, as long as you feel comfortable.

And, there are all ages and backgrounds here as well, which is also helpful if you need advice or just someone to listen.

Sophii3x 11-02-2007 11:52 AM

I think I'll be fine on my own
This kind of thing happened when I was around 13, but I just got over it
Thanks for your support everyone

lily. 11-02-2007 11:54 AM

Anytime Soph.. and anytime you wanna chat.. I'll listen.. I can be everyone's webmom.. :spin: x

Sophii3x 11-02-2007 11:56 AM

Yey! Linda's my webmom!!
