What I'm sure Emma said tonight was that the £20k would have been lost if no-one pressed the button, so the winner would have only got £80k (now £70k since Alex and Jackson grabbed £5) even if no-one pressed.

But I don't remember it being explained during the 20k button exercise about the £20k being lost.

No -She said that if the £20K was NOT claimed by someone pressing the button, then it would STILL have been taken away from the prize money. So the winner would still be £20K down even if NO ONE pressed the button.

How? How would money not taken away, be still taken away? That doesn't make any sense. The 20k was taken by Jason. The person who wins BB is 20k plus 10k out (30k) out thanks to 3 greedy assholes, unless of course one of them wins.

OR, are you saying that the 20k was a bonus and was not going to be added to the prize fund. I specifically remember it being said that it was being TAKEN from it.

The 20k task was part of the 100k, if nobody claimed the 20k ( pressed the button) then that 20k was going to be removed from the winnings, so irrespective of Jason, or anyone else pressing the button, as soon as they decided to offer the 20k in the task, it was immediately deducted from the 100k and was never going to be put back. So, it turns out, Jason never deprived anyone of the winning money.

I don't know why people are so hell bent on the 'winner' taking all the money, it's a game -or should be if BB would get it's act together- but that's where they fail, they need to define whether it's a popularity contest or a proper game where people take people out, HM's form alliances and break them and form other alliances. are ruthless and underhand. At the moment it's neither one nor 'tother.

She never made the same claim about the 10k -rich task- but you could assume that it was offered under the same conditions, take it or lose it, the winning fund was always going to be down to 70k irrespective of what the housemate's chose to do.
