The Verdict
did anybody watch this last night? It was fascinating, and is on all this week. I was a bit surprised to see Jeffrey Archer on the jury though!
|
Yeh I watched it...
what do you think so far, was she raped? For some reason in rape cases, my instinct is to believe the female, even though that is not always the case. |
yeah i watched this was waiting for some1 to bring it up
Im not so sure I thought she was and then when she said she lied about being a virgin im not so sure i dont think she knew about the tape though i think her friend did thta all by herself |
I saw some of it and thought it was very interesting look at a trial.
Don't think Jeffrey Archer would be able to serve on real jury - isn't there a certain amount of time that has to pass before ex-prisoners can do jury service? I thought that Stan Collymore had a lot to say for himself, and it shows how influential a strong personality can have over the other voices. One thing I remember from doing jury service was that I'm sure we were told not to discuss the facts of the case until all the evidence had been presented. As this programme shows that doesn't happen. |

But I will be interested to see the defendants being questioned. My gut instinct tells me she was raped - the evidence presented so far tells me there's every chance she wasn't. |
I may be abit late but what did Jeffrey Archer do?
|
He took a tabloid to court for libel for saying that he slept with a prostitute, and won a big payout from them.
Years later it was proved that he had lied in court about it, and was jailed for perjury. |
He wouldn't be allowed on a jury in real life. Neither would Honor Blackman, because she is over 70.
|
I was going to start a thread on this but saw this one.
I think it's fascinating too. I'm surprised at how well Stan Collymore is holding his own against the two politicians. I'm also surprise how timid Jacqueline Gold has turned out to be. On the evidence given so far, they'd have to acquit. There's not enough physical evidence and the testimonies so far have all been shaky. It's better for a guilty man to go free than an innocent man go to jail. |
i watched some of it, but i dont get what its all about lol
|
I missed it last night but maanged to catch up via the website going to watch it again tonight. Is tommorow the last 1 any1 know?
|
What channel is this on? I searched every channel it would most likely be on and i couldn't find it. It's something i'd be interested in.
|
its on BBC2 Ant and its on at 9pm tonight
|
The Verdict was Not Guilty - 10 to 2 verdict.
I only saw the end of it but Jeffrey Archer changed his vote to avoid a retrial (not that there would have been one). |
It was the right verdict.
Mega man was cracking me up. I was very disappointed with Jacqueline Gold. How has she made so much money when she's such a wimp? |
Technically the right verdict, but morally the wrong one. I think they were guilty.

What did you think to Jacqueline Gold? I was expecting more from her. |
I thought Mega was doing a life sentence???

The best bit was when Stan Collymore shouted down Jeffery Archer by questioning his morality. Quality television. |
