Bee's / Wasps ....

Have you ever been stung by a bee or a wasp?

I've been stung by both, horrible little bastards :/

LukeB 21-07-2016 01:46 PM

Only by a wasp and it hurt for a while and I had a small bump on my arm.

Never by a bee because I always stay calm around them so they won't touch you.

Oaker 21-07-2016 01:46 PM

I think I got stung by a wasp a few days ago on my thumb and it shook me

(It might have been a mosquito though I didn't get to see)

Ellen 21-07-2016 01:47 PM

Yes by both.

Sat on a Bee by accident and it stung my bum :bawling: But dont mind them too much as they are usually busy doing their thing.

Wasps, hate them & they can all die the annoying little

Josy 21-07-2016 01:49 PM

Yeah bees generally wont sting if you leave them alone because I think they die once they sting?

The reason one stung me was because I heard a buzzing and I never knew at the time one had landed on my hair, I put my hand up to my hair and it stung my hand :bored:

Josy 21-07-2016 01:50 PM

Theres a bee hive in my back garden atm, its what made me think of this thread

Ross. 21-07-2016 01:50 PM

I've been stung by a wasp and I didn't even do anything to provoke it :fist:

Bees are fine

Are you getting it removed?

T* 21-07-2016 01:51 PM

Bees are lovely and won't sting you if you're not acting silly, and they're endangered so love them :nono:
Wasps can die, horrible bitches

Yeah we need to get it done by pest control

Crimson Dynamo 21-07-2016 01:53 PM

Yes lots. The other day on the finger as a wasp was on my postbag at the door. I think I have a wasps nest in the front porch bit where the porch meets the stone wall as every day i have 2-3 wasps on the window when i go to the ourtside door - I have to rescue and put outside, been going on all summer

Drew. 21-07-2016 01:54 PM

No but thats because i run a mile if one comes near me

AnnieK 21-07-2016 01:54 PM

I've been stung by a bee but only because it was on my washing on the line and I startled it when I was bringing the washing in. I felt awful afterwards knowing it would die

My 5 year old got stung by a wasp on Tuesday. Bad mum moment - I heard him screaming and saw him dancing around but thought he was just being his normal daft self till he dropped to the floor and rolled in nettles on the field  I asked him if it hurt as much as he thought it would and his reply was "no......its worse". He was a bit nervous about going outside again after that so I had to tell a white lie and tell him he can't be stung again (am hoping that some wasp doesn't make a liar out of me).

just leave them to it if they are causing no harm?

I had a big wasps nest in one of my sheds last year, fascinating

bit tricky to get the strimmer but they meant me no harm

Lostie! 21-07-2016 01:55 PM

I was stung on the neck at school once right after I'd got an ice cream (which ended up on the floor in the midst of the vicious attack </3).

But they are doing harm, I'm scared to put my washing out incase they get me :/

And the woman on the phone said they wont remove them if they are masonry bee's so I don't know what they will do when they come out

I had one last year, we had to get someone in to remove it. Was relieved once it was gone as we could wander round the garden without the fear of been stung :)

Not surprised!
Where is the nest? In a wall?

Jack_ 21-07-2016 02:01 PM

Once by a wasp a few years ago. I stupidly stood right by a flower bed at a train station waiting for a lift, got in the car and could feel something moving on my stomach under my shirt so panicked and shook it and it stung me

I already had a fear of wasps/bees/moths/flies anyway and it's even worse now because the pain was even worse than I ever imagined it would be. I trampled the little **** in a tissue and then poured boiling water over it welp. I hate the ****ing things, they are the worst part of summer for me...I'm like Drew, I'll run away from them

Of course they wont sting you just ignore them. They are there to get pollen not sting humans, ignore them and they will ignore you

Possibly could be masonary Bee's then.

If they refuse to help, you might want to try someone who keeps bee's, someone local or yellow pages etc?
