Unexpectedly GOOD??

At the very beginning of this series, I truly, deeply, seriously thought that this particular Big Brother was PURPOSELY set up to be the absolute WORST ever. Liked it was rigged. Like it was an inside joke. Creators: "Let's turn the tables and purposely make this BAD!"

But it has insanely turned out to be, in my mind, possibly one of the Top Five Best series for me. It went from me thinking, "Emma, there is something in your eyes - you KNOW something that we don't know" - to "Goddamnit, Emma! I WAS RIGHT! You KNEW this was going to be the most "horrible-to-best" ratio in the history of Big Brother - in any season. And you hated that you had to keep that a secret!"

Cheers, Emma, THE cheekiest monkey alive.

Cheers, Cheers, Cheers.

It's been brilliant from start to finish for me....best mix of housemates in years...and a lot of them playing tactically instead of just the usual stereo types.
This year they are all thinking, thinking, thinking all the time .....makes last years lot look like a remedial class.

Really liked this series, I especially liked the diverse mix of the cast especially the older housemates this year. If you compare Jayne, Natalie, Chelsea and Jason to last years Simon and Eileen, there's no comparison really

I sort of agree it's been good, but it's not over yet. Previous series wind down at this stage with the finalists relaxing a bit, but what will today's evictions mean for our memories of this series overall? I'm worried BB has more to lose than to gain by trying to spin out the pain until the end.

It's so weird how that looks so different to me. I'm used to the wonderful treasure trove of awesome characters that we have in US reality. To me, just about every UK contestant at least lets in a little bit of fresh air compared to the vapidness in our TV shows. Though I guess it depends on the show.

And yes, last year does look like remedial compared to this series.

I have enjoyed it...but the Other house was a waste of time. The Jason/Charlie thing was good but the others Chelsea /Jayne Ryan/Sam thing dwindled after the 2nd day.
Good bunch of housemates...young and old. It's been fun.
Let's hope it ends well with a Jason or Andy win :cheer2::laugh:

Definitely the best CH5 Big Brother since 2012. Shame it was so short. 71 or 78 days would have been more sufficient with this number of Hms.

For a house full off wanna bees it actually has turned out to be a house full of the most normal run of the mill people....a revelation and an utter delight to watch, just a shame we couldn't or can't actually watch them 24/7 cause each and every one of them would be interesting to delve deeper into what makes them tick....sadly we can't so we are left with bits and bobs of them and not really getting a true reflection of them as people....

But all in all a truly classic series.

Absolutely fantastic series. It's one of those ones that the cast made so amazing though because the production has been pretty piss poor in places.

Time 24-07-2016 12:58 PM

Yeah, I'm really surprised by this series but it has been a great one.

johne 24-07-2016 04:08 PM

Great series even though there's no one I hate, and no one I'm rooting for to win.

dyfed 24-07-2016 04:32 PM

Yeah I agree it has turned out to be a great bb.

Greg! 24-07-2016 04:35 PM

It's been a really good series. I wish they didn't bother with the "others" thing and just chucked all 18 of them into the one house

y.winter 24-07-2016 05:26 PM

This series has been great and I'm sad to see it end so early.

iloveaisleyne 24-07-2016 06:11 PM

It's been really a good....it could have been better if marco (Ew but...) Natalie and Andrew made it further. It would have been even MORE dramatic

^I completely agree - as I'm watching from the U.S. as well. The UK version is a COMPLETELY different show than ours. And miles/kilometers better, without question. The U.S. lost me around the time of "ALL STARS".

Apart from all that comparison, though, I'm really thinking Andy - if he doesn't ****** it up for himself - is gonna win this.

When I lived in Barbados we got American tv,have to say bbusa is fixed where as BBuk isn't,that's the difference my friend.

EspeonBB 24-07-2016 07:47 PM

I agree it's been a good series and it's definitely exceed the very low expectations I had before it started

Hopefully it's an indication of where BB is going

Exactly. In the US version: the diary room bits are ALL scripted, and the housemates are terrible actors. And the show is worsened by the fact that in the US the housemates vote THEMSELVES out - so even the best housemate could go at any time. It's only on 3 nights a week, the cramming-of-three-days of "action" is barely worth watching. It's just so less DYNAMIC. It's a plastic version of BBUK.
