A round of applause for the casting directors

I'm disappointed in the result, hated the tasks and hated most of the production, but there is one key thing that made this such an incredible series and that is the cast

Whoever is responsible for putting this group together, I salute you :clap1:

It's not often you get a cast so full of gems that the publics idiotic voting patterns aren't to the detriment of the series and that is testament to just how amazing this group was. They all delivered, even the bores in Sam and Alex had their moments and in any other series probably would've been okay housemates

So yeah, great work :worship:

They did great with casting this year :clap1:

The best since BB14, and it just shows that a true mixture of HMs is the best way to go

Greg! 26-07-2016 11:07 PM

The cast was golden this year :clap1: hardly any bores

zakman440 26-07-2016 11:08 PM

At least one group of people did their job properly :clap1:

Jason. 26-07-2016 11:11 PM

The cast was amazing this year I'll give them that. Diverse and entertaining.

Even if it was filled with z-listers and people who'd qualify for CBB, it was still great.

Time 26-07-2016 11:12 PM

The cast was one of the best of any series :clap1:

Rob! 26-07-2016 11:13 PM

Fantastic and diverse cast :clap1:

Well, I switched off half way through. Too many housemates, too much interference, nomination rules were changed to suit the production, and people were evicted again without a public vote.

All the things people have complained about over the last 3 or 4 years and they've done it all again and again. To the applause of "fans" of the show.

The show is dead. And looking at the lineup for CBB, it may be that that show doesn't have much life left in it either.

Maru 26-07-2016 11:14 PM

The casting was great. Better than I expected tbf. They need to lower the meddling next year, leave the public outside of BB and throw in some just straight fun tasks, then it'll be perfect...

starry 26-07-2016 11:14 PM

The other house twist was stupid, it's better to have people in there who don't know each other. Too scripted and manipulated. Older people like Jayne, Jason and Andy helped save it. Laura and Evelyn were ok

Firewire 26-07-2016 11:15 PM

The cast was fantastic. Only one I didn't like was Marco and even he added something.

This has nothing to do with the cast being one of the best ever. I actually agree with most of what you said and acknowledged the downfalls of this series in the first sentence of the OP, but that doesn't change the fact they got one thing right and that was the cast. That's the point of the thread

Not convinced myself. Jason had the personality of a plank of wood. Andy's smug face was unwatchable to me. Evelyn somehow was the top female (another sympathy vote I'm guessing). Sam, Laura and Emma didn't have a personality between them. Jackson was a bit of a knob. Marco was utterly obnoxious. There's so many I can't remember. But then I did turn off half way through. I thought some of them were good in the first couple of weeks, but there were far too many. You're bound to get a few good ones when you put close to 20 of them in there. But it all ended up a complete mess.

It was better than last year, I'll grant. That was unbelievably bad. Wet men and older women who had boyfriends. What were the producers thinking?

I actually think the one with Helen had the best lineup for Channel 5, but god awful twists and non-stop interference.

the cast was great but I'm not sure if this was by chance or they actually planned this. Because from VTs they all seem like the typical model type.

It's always a chance with every cast. It can't be planned.

No matter what personalities you cast, you never know how they will react once inside the house and mixing with others.

Withano 27-07-2016 01:37 AM

It was better than usual because of the ranges in age. Its what the viewers have been wanting for years. Next time the need a bigger range of personalities. No point putting 8 models in and watching them befriend each other and make out. We need 18 people who would never be friends on the outside. This year we had about 6 which is a step in the right direction.

Yes, that's along the same lines as what I said.

I think people big up this cast because it was a bit above the usual crap that CH5 do. It's still well behind the best on CH4 because of the cheapo nature of it now (like no live feed, proper updates) and the short term drama they are desperate to have, so the short run of this series.

Visage 27-07-2016 08:53 AM

The cast has been great, but I'v also enjoyed the twists, the tasks and the interfering, so it was a win/win for me right through.

*mazedsalv** 27-07-2016 08:59 AM

The cast has been GOLD in my opinion.

The cast carried the series, whilst the production was a liability with terrible tasks (bar BBCorp).

starry 27-07-2016 11:16 AM

Wasn't the cast good (maybe even better) at the start of the previous series but the producers decided to destroy it? Too many z-listers in this one, people just there for the airtime.

Raph 27-07-2016 11:17 AM

Best cast since BB14 :clap1:

Cal. 27-07-2016 01:53 PM

Yes amazing cast this year. Great housemates.

Charlie, Jayne, Hughie, Lateysha, Ryan, Laura, Emma, Evelyn, Natalie and Georgina were my personal favorites and exceptional castings.

Even housemates like Chelsea and Jackson who I was no fan of brought something to the series and delivered.

The only housemates this series who didn't really bring much to the table were Alex and Sam - even Victoria and Andrew who were chucked out in the first few days provided in their stays.
