Bb is now a platform.

A platform for anything that gets you noticed. Bear is a prime example. Go in there create crap and get a name for being a complete dick and the public will love you. Casing point are people like marco, speidi etc etc. It's all about camera time and it's killing the shows ethos.

The show is now a breeding ground for who can be the biggest dickhead and who can argue the most. It's supposed to be great to watch but when you think of how people like bear who are the dregs of society, can be rewarded for doing what they do is pretty pathetic.

Completely agree.

One way around this is to limit the amount of reality stars that enter in the first place, that or remove them altogether. The likes of Hopkins, Speidi, Tiffany and Farrah who many confuse as being 'real' all have scripts and as a result of that nothing that develops within the house is natural, it's all contrived nonsense aimed to boost their own profile.

Unfortunately this is the way it is now and i can't see anything changing.

Some carry it off better than others though and make it work, this lot are a bunch of amateurs and seem all over the place

It's always been like this for a while... see jade goody.

I agree - and these other reality shows are quilty of making BB like this. it should be a game and not a platform as clearly this platform is working for them and we keep feeding them by watching.

the problem is casting people from other reality shows like towie and gs etc..
instead of casting celebrities who are actual celebrities with talents and accomplishments.

Do you remember the good old days when we had sportsmen/women, politicians, and a general preponderance of those who had become celebs in the real world rather than on other reality shows. Sadly those days are gone and will never return for three reasons.

1. "Real" famous people cost more money.
2. The CBB brand has now been cheapened. Real celebs wouldn't want to know anymore.
3. The baying mob (i.e. many of today's viewers) like to see conflict, sex, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan, more so for civilian BB these days because of the above points, but I expect civilian BB and CBB to both carry on the same path down.

You could probably blame that clown who bought all those bananas on the shopping budget.....or Rex.

Oh, no, John! Not sports people! They're nearly always incredibly dull and have very little to say for themselves.

I agree that a lot of the reality TV people who are put in the House are terrible HMs and human beings, but some are okay - it beats me why BB always picks the slappers and dickheads!

I wish they would stop putting people from the vomit worthy TV shows like ex on the beach geordie shore.. etc.. BB is no longer a worthy programme to watch its become 'guess which vomit show this lot came from...

A handful of TRUE celebs (biggins - Sam - James - Ricky) and the rest should just be popped in shredder imho...

True, and I know instant sound bites rule these days, but I quite like some contestants who might well appear dull, but flower as the series progresses. Such journeys seem less likely today because the show producers would quickly change the rules/manipulate the vote to get the quiet ones out as with the current nominations this week.

It does unfortunately skew the game when reality stars are in there. They know exactly what the cameras and viewing public want, and they want aggro.
