Should Audley Harrison retire from boxing?

After his 3rd round knockout loss against Michael Sprott on saturday night do you think it's about time he hung up his gloves? Or do you think he can come back from this defeat?

I,personally think he should retire as I see little in him carrying on as he's not going to improve at the age of 35 and after losing to Sprott there's not much else for him to do other than fight 3rd rate opponents.

not sure, im not aware of who he is lol

Don't really follow boxing these days but I watched the highlights on YouTube. He got totally flattened. The consensus seems to be his career has flattered to deceive.

Umm isn't he getting kinda old now? :puzzled:

Yeah he should retire can't see him going anywere after saturday nights peformance plus he is getting on a bit now, i think he could come back from it if he was younger but for me it's to late.

The age is really the big factor, plenty have come back earlier in their career's from knockouts but he'll be 36 this year and his fitness is going downhill rapidly.

The thing is also when he first turned professional after the olympics he was fighting no hopers so he's not had many huge fights.

Yeah totally agree mate and I put the blame partly down to the BBC for that, they put him on a 10 fight deal and allowed him to pick whoever he wanted to fight and then have him a million quid for doing it and Audley was obviously going to breeze through a bunch of hand picked no hopers and he just stagnated as a fighter through the lack of competiton but he was also handling the promotion and training side just to take more money and that's too much for anyone to handle so no wonder he's never really improved.

He became a pro a bit too late and didnt get the expert help when he got there, it was never going to work out.

I agree. From the word go he didn't look like he was capable of much.

I note you're a Pretty boy Floyd fan. He needs a good ass whippin too. The De La Hoya fight is a money fight. He needs to fight Ricky Hatton. He'll probably beat Hatton, but he needs that scalp before he retires

Yeah PBF's my fave boxer, I know he's a bit cocky but I admire his in ring skills, it's going to take someone very quick to give him a real beating.I'd like to see him fight Hatton, I do like Ricky but he's not looked so good lately and that's proably the lifestyle catching up with him, you cannot go putting on so much weight between fights and I think he'd get beat in a similar way to Baldomir if he faced PBF.

I'd like to see PBF put under more pressure and hopefully Hatton will do that. I think regardless of Hatton losing and gaining weight he'd come prepared for Mayweather.
