This is really bugging me  Saira is not that hard of a name to pronounce

#Saira or whatever her name is

Shaun 08-08-2016 08:32 PM

Grant on Snapchat called her the Siara Desert as well. It's 2007 all over again </3

Amy Jade 08-08-2016 08:34 PM

I honestly don't think he's doing it to annoy her or anything, because he's said it in the diary room I think he's genuinely misspronouncing it by accident

Oh I don't think he's doing it deliberately either but I'm sure he'll have been corrected on it before so it shouldn't really be a repeated thing

It's really not though  it's literally just 'sigh-ra', two syllables

I find it hard to believe that, after almost two weeks, he's still mispronouncing names by accident. It's a fairly simple name, and I'm sure he knows exactly how it's pronounced given that he's probably heard it every single day. He's just too mindless to give a ****.

Jackiey Budden who

Braden 08-08-2016 09:01 PM

Yeah, I feel that he's doing it on purpose. He mispronounced her name too many times whilst he nominated her, so to me it's his way of purposefully disrespecting her.

It was on the BBUK official one, sorry should have clarified.

RhysJones 08-08-2016 10:12 PM

Don't think he's doing it on purpose, but from the sounds of it she's corrected him a few times

I'm going to defend him further, my Nan watches the show every night and she calls Saira Sarah, Marnie Mary and Aubrey Audrey and calls Ricky FatBoy

hot2go 08-08-2016 10:32 PM

It's one digit longer than BOOM so it probably throws him

alex_front2 08-08-2016 10:54 PM

Sadly any name that's not a traditional British / US/European name be vulnerable to mispronounciation and deliberate disrespect

Robodog 09-08-2016 08:56 AM

It's an unusual name, and like any other unusual name, it's easy to mispronounce until you are used to it

He may be dyslexic

But during that whole 'SAY MY NAME, SAY MY NAME' episode, Saira was being an intimidating bitch

Jan S 09-08-2016 07:39 PM

some people genuinely have a kind of sound-blindness when it come to names; sometimes it depends on where you're from, too, and which names and collections of sounds you are familiar with.

my name is Jan - how hard can it be? but half of my non-native english speaking customers call me Jane, no matter how often i've gently pointed it out. those having the worst problems seem to come from eastern europe, lithuania/russia, and areas in africa. my chinese, indo-asian and western europeans seem not to have the same dfficulties.

Got you all hot and bothered.
Mad cause I talk around it.
Looking for the goodies
Keep on lookin' cuz they stay in the jar
Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh
