The reason people gravitate to liking Bear
 

Imo is because the rest of the cast is fecking dire.
Bear is not normally someone i'd naturally like but he imo is the best of an awful set of housemates.
I also like James.I'm liking Heavy again too after that historic nomination.Renee is pretty funny too due to her NY accent and my love of gangster movies but as a whole it is an awful cast.
Ricky is the biggest disappointment of them all.He'll be pulling out his flat cap and pipe next.Sam offers nothing.Katy Waste-all just cries.Lewis is a slimy character who just don't like for some reason and Marnie is an awful actress.

No. I think some people just interpret airtime=entertainment.

I don't particularly 'like' him but he certainly is not the satan spawn some make out. And he does something besides piss and moan. Yes the rest of the cast (most of them) are ****ing dire which makes Bear one of my 'faves' pretty much by default. Which is odd as he was my most hated on launch night by a fair distance :joker:

'Bear is on my screen all the time which therefore means he's entertaining which therefore means he's a good housemate therefore I love him'

Bear gets shown on screen for 80% of the highlights show and for some people that means that he's the biggest character when the reality is BB is an edited show, meaning that people's personalities aren't being shown/are being suffocated because of some twat from Ex on the Beach.

I don't understand how the rest of the cast can be called boring when they seem to be pretty strong characters/good protagonists against the Rat Pack as Bear's act thrives off them

Exactly.He is a joker.He's not singled anyone out like Saira did and he's defo no Helen Wood character as some would like to believe.

The "at least they're doing something" argument would make more sense to me if they were doing something worth watching.

But it's all clearly subjective as I've loved the little scenes between the quieter housemates we've had (on the odd occasion they decided to give airtime to people outside of the boresome foursome) but because they're not running around trying to cause trouble and shagging in the shower it equates to not doing anything to some people.

Those kind of people also have a really oppressive effect on others around them. It's easy to fall back on that same old excuse when they're the ones stopping any other stories from developing in the first place.

Bear is not a nice person, regardless of how funny you find some of his antics, and if you're supporting that you're supporting his bullying

Tbf the edit argument is pretty weak as we are only shown what we are shown, so while this MAY mean the others are entertaining but not shown, it may also mean they arent shown as they do **** all. Without any live feed to judge or anything, we have nothing to go on but the edited snippets we are shown :shrug:

This is absolutely the correct answer for atleast half of Bear fans.

Arguments often equal entertainment because both participants are equal
But this is just people being picked on and it's horrible to watch

If you think he is entertaining in his behaviour then that's your opinion..it's certainly not mine. The other housemates are completely suppressed by him and his wind ups..his disrespectful behaviour towards his housemates and his constant attention seeking ways.
Tonight they never showed the tramps revelling in the fact that it's "their house" insinuating their ruling of it by their selfish inconsiderate behaviour.

The two girls really have no self respect....neither of those two lads will be interested when they get out of the house...they are users and if they were my sons or daughters I would be so ashamed.

They represent a lot of the bad behaviour in young people today...and it's awful viewing.

I don't mind Bear that much, Lewis is just the worst HM in there followed by Marnie

i'm sure Question Time would be considered more entertaining by some if the panel were to behave like idiots and piss in Dimbleby's water, but its not the point of the show, so its not appropriate.

Bear behaving like a tool on BB is the same thing. At what point did BB become a vehicle for chavs behaving badly? If I want to watch that, I will view a chav show :idc:

Sorry to inform you, but since C5 took over BB, it IS a chav show :laugh:

Comparing questiontime to BB though..come on. BB has always been about people behaving 'normally' and having fun. In the later years it was pretty much about people getting pissed, and more recently it (unfortunately) is all about showmances and arguments.

If wasn't for Bear I think I would have stopped watching the rest are pretty boring that said, I quite like Rennee, the way she rants & raves, I must I'm going to miss Sira I really liked her.

Well missy I actually run the bear fan club and I can tell you i wasn't a fan of the likes of marco who also got a lot of air time but I like Bear... So what's your verdict on that lady?
