Are real celebs interested in CBB
 

Over the last few years the CBB contestants have whittled down from a few "real" celebrities to "who's that" reactions when they are announced.

Now its full of reality tv people who are just filling time until filming for their next show starts and picking up a few quid.

In reality they are professional housemates in different series

When it comes down to Sam Fox being the most famous in the house things have really come to an end...

CBB can kill your career off more times than reignite it these days. It's turned into a porn show for the Reality stars and a place for aging "real" celebs to make themselves look sexist/racist/homophobic/bitter etc etc

This has been the most basic, immature BB of all time.

Occasionally they've gotten 'real' celebs like Janice Dickinson, Katie Price etc in recent years. But I never mind the CBB casts since they actually hunt out good housemates instead of just chucking anyone famous in like I felt C4 CBB used to do.

I wouldn't consider either of those two like actually talented, being models & reality stars already. They both also did IAC like 10 years before CBB so there essentially "used" celebs.

I would really like if they tried to do a series with no reality Stars in it, I think we might be spared the sex shows then

As regular viewers we can all clearly see the decline, but just as increasingly in business generally, I suspect the production staff are on short term contracts, probably series to series, so they won't give a chuff about the medium or long term. For them it's likely profit today, or dole queue tomorrow.

But they are both incredibly famous in my opinion? Katie Price was like the most famous woman in Britain for many many years and only recently has she declined in popularity. They did well to get her since I'm A Celeb probably has a much bigger budget and is more attractive to go on since it has a larger audience.

I don't see the problem with reality stars. It's just the reality stars they cast. People I'd like reality star wise I know for a fact wouldn't be embarrassments like the Rat Pack. They need to stop with MIC/TOWIE people now because they're a dead end and they're not special anymore. Geordie Shore people could be used but only for Sophie and Chloe who would not be awful like Marnie is. And other reality stars I'd like would be from other shows like Real Housewives series' etc - classy women with acid tongues :clap1:

No way.

As Niamh said, there's a much, much bigger chance of it harming you then making you. Hence why those who are not well known do it, because they will do anything for a bit of extra exposure.

No real celebrity worth their salt would dream of going into the BB house where their every actions and every word is monitored, scrutinised and broadcast to the nation. This is why , I guess, that reality stars don't mind going in there. Its part and parcel of their job.
At some point in the early days you may have considered it to be a fun experience and possibly a flagging career boost but now its just car crash tv..
Rather than focusing on the fun element its all about controversy, aggression, conflict, and mayhem...of which generally BB is the instigator.
All I can say is that the money must be good to even step foot in the place, even if you are a z lister.

Agreed. I cannot believe how long the edit went on with Bear/Chloe's 'sexy massage'. BB seem to indulge that cheap porn display by giving it so much airtime. I'd much rather see a conversation between other HMs like you see on live feed.

Reality stars are ruining BB. They are turning it into another manufactured reality show like TOWIE etc. The relationship between Lewis and Marnie sums this up. It's the most unconvincing anf obvious reality 'showmance' since Ollie and Sam Faiers pretended to have a thing.

BB is like a really dull reality show mega-mix. Give me real organic relationships any day over this contrived reality sex-show pap.

The fact that a lot of these reality rejects move in the same anti social circles outside and are widely reported to already mingle prior to CBB tells me that the producers don't appear to put a lot of effort into obtaining celebs of any real calibre. Having 2 so close together seems to have resulted in scraping the reality tv barrel of scum. Wouldn't be surprised if some hms were given invites and those suggested mates acted upon and contacted. Farcical lineup.

I think you only have to look at the state of the mess we have now to answer your question in the OP.
The funniest thing is every time i have tried to suggest over the last few years that C5 have been making it chavvier and trashier than ever then i have had the same person insist it has always been this bad ever since bb1 :joker: (even though they were about 5 years old at that time)

They have suddenly gone very quiet. afer so many overly long self righteous narcissistic posts telling me im wrong and i dont know how to watch the show properly :joker: :joker: :joker: :joker:

I agree with this. They've turned their back on CBB viewers to cater for, like you say, the towie audience.

Yes agree with every word you said there, I've only watched a couple of episodes of this CBB, the last one I watched was the one which ended on the noises coming from the bathroom where Chloe and bear were. I had to turn it off because my husband and step son were in the kitchen right next to where I had it turned on, it was so cringey and embarrassing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the pranks or constant edits of showmance get much worse with repercussions for the entire show. Which would be fully deserved. Hope the reduced fees dished out to Zlisters was worth the possible long term damage.

I think CBB13 had a great line up fame wise AND was an entertaining funny dramatic series AND had the bit of sex appeal that they seem to desperately want.

There's no reason why any big current celebs would do it or any reality show, really. It's not worth the risk.
