Does the American Celeb Big Bro have Brits in it?

I actually like this years US housemates better than usual, but why do we have them? Do they have Brits? Why do we choose Americans over Aussies or Europeans or anywhere else?

LukeB 22-08-2016 06:52 PM

US don't have a CBB

Cal. 22-08-2016 06:52 PM

They don't have Celeb Big Bro in America babes.

LukeB 22-08-2016 06:52 PM

Brits are not even allowed on their version, you need to be a U.S resident to be on their shows

JTM45 22-08-2016 06:53 PM

There is no CBB US ....surprisingly!
You think they'd be all over this kinda' thing.

Pete. 22-08-2016 06:53 PM

No CBB in America

Gusto Brunt 22-08-2016 06:53 PM

I thought Frankie said he was in the American version of CBB...

no he said he was on the american version of big brother.

Vicky. 22-08-2016 06:54 PM

They don't have it but if they did have one I wouldn't imagine so.

And yes, IMO the American housemates seem to be much better year after year than our own 'talent'

Cal. 22-08-2016 06:54 PM

But I've noticed other formats don't allow other people from other nationalities on their show and we do (except if it's a twist like BBCAN4). We've had John James, Andrew and Evelyn on our BBUK in recent years and other versions won't have brits on their show. I kinda like our rules aren't like that. It doesn't bother me.

Then since he is a celebrity, why wasn't it Celebrity BB.

Cal. 22-08-2016 06:55 PM

Why would they want UK celebs in their CBB anyway? There's way more celebs in America.

diablik_uk 22-08-2016 06:55 PM

WOW it never occurred to me that they wouldn't have one.

I believe it's like that for BBUS because your earnings and/or winnings are taxed so you'd need to be a resident, but I'm not sure if that's the case in Canada or not

Surely you need to be a resident in this country to be in the UK version? How long do tourist visas last?

Because stunt casting is a thing

a) America have a slightly higher standard of celebrity, hence why we get their rejects, b) Ariana Grande wasn't as famous back then (he fairly infamously made a huge deal of revealing who his sister was, only to have none of his housemates know who she was) and c) US reality shows like BB and Survivor sometimes have minor celebs - usually sportspeople - play alongside us normals so a celebrity edition would be pretty redundant

Australian BB had a Canadian on, and at least one British contestant

America doesn't have Celebrity Big Brother... only Big Brother.

Frankie Grande is not a Celebrity on any level that the term Celebrity applies... neither are half the people on CBB UK :idc:

That is why you think the "American Celebrities" are better... because they hail from the land of people who think they are better than the rest of the world due to their brief stint in Hollywood/TV land. But I personally feel that it makes CBB or even BBUK not worth watching now that they have skewed the lines of D list to A list celebrity

And, finally, America did try to adopt the format for I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here... but it failed... as would CBB in America tbh... because they don't really care about D-list celebrities there... a has been is just a has been... they are a dime a dozen :hehe:

It's not known as Civilian Big Brother in America either.

It's just known as Big Brother, unknowns and Celebs can take part against each other as there's no public vote involved in the evictions.
